Class of 1957 Alumni, Colin James, was honoured with the Australian Fire Service Medal on the King Charles Birthday honour list in June this year.
Colin started in 1980 as a volunteer firefighter with the Darlington Bush Fire Brigade in WA.
During more than four decades of dedicated service, he held a string of leadership positions within the brigade, including Captain and Lieutenant, and he remains an active and well-respected member of the Fire Support Group.
Congratulations Colin - such well-deserved recognition!

It was wonderful to welcome back Cam Smith, Class of 2007, as our guest speaker at the 2nd annual Scots Legacy Series on Friday.

Cam's siblings, all Scots alumni, his parents and many from his class turned out in force to support the event so it was also a reunion on many fronts.

Celebrating Liam Nicolson!
Our Class of 2024 alumnus Liam Nicolson has had an incredible run of piping success this week in Glasgow.
Liam won Round 1 of Piping Live!’s 2026 Pipe Idol to progress to the four-piper Grand Final last night, where he put in another fantastic performance. While he didn’t take out the overall title, reaching the final was a brilliant achievement!
In between those accomplishments, he performed at the sold-out Glasgow debut and CD launch of Australian country singer James Johnston. Liam joined Johnston for a memorable night featuring bagpipes, Highland dancers and the live debut of new music.
Congratulations, Liam — we’re incredibly proud of you and all you’re achieving on the piping stage!

We're honoured to welcome back Cam Smith (Class of 2007) for the 2026 Scots Legacy Series breakfast.

From combat operations in Afghanistan and service with Australia's Special Operations Command to leading international sales teams in the global defence industry, Cam's career has been defined by resilience, leadership and performing under pressure.

After graduating from Scots, Cam joined the Australian Army through the Gap Year Program, embarking on a 10-year military career that included deployment to Afghanistan, service with the 2nd Commando Regiment as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), and later becoming a JTAC Instructor.

Today, Cam is based in the United Arab Emirates as International Business Development Manager for Armor Australia, following a career that has taken him across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

🥌 Congratulations to Scots alumna Marcy Forge (Class of 2024) on an extraordinary year representing Australia on the international curling stage.

Competing in Canada at the World Junior Mixed Doubles Championship, Marcy and her partner achieved an historic result, finishing 16th overall and becoming the highest-ranked Australian Under-21 Mixed Doubles team in history.

Along the way, they recorded impressive victories over Austria, France and the Philippines, while narrowly missing victories against powerhouse nations including Scotland and China. Their performances demonstrated that Australian athletes can compete strongly against some of the world's best curling programs.

Marcy's success continued at the Australian National Championships, where she claimed a bronze medal in the Women's Championship and a silver medal in the Mixed Doubles Championship.

We are incredibly proud of Marcy and look forward to following her journey as she continues to represent Australia on the world stage.

The Scots Community Foundation is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of our School community who may be interested in joining the Foundation as a member.

The Foundation plays an important role in supporting the future growth and development of The Scots School Albury through philanthropy, community engagement and strategic support of key School initiatives.

As we continue to strengthen and grow the Foundation, we are seeking individuals from our alumni community who are passionate about the School and able to contribute their skills, experience and time to this important work.
