Congratulations the four students who participated in the WorldSkills Australia Regional Competition in Plumbing & Heating on Friday, 7 August.

Participants were challenged to create an Australian map, demonstrating their skills in marking out the design, manufacturing the pipework, and mounting the finished project to a display board before judging took place. The task required a high level of precision, technical knowledge, planning and craftsmanship.

We would also like to extend a thank you to our judges for their time, expertise and commitment to supporting the next generation of plumbing professionals:

Our Certificate III and Diploma Early Childhood Education and Care students are excited to welcome local families to a series of supervised play sessions at TAFE NSW Albury. These engaging 2-hour sessions will feature a variety of planned indoor play experiences designed to support children's learning, creativity and social development.

Former Army carpenter Lachlan took a leap into the electrical trades and hasn't looked back💡⚡

After serving in the Army and working in retail, a chance conversation led him to a mature-age electrical apprenticeship with Trent Parker Electrical Services.

Now a fully qualified electrician and the 2025 TAFE NSW - Albury Electrotechnology Student of the Year, Lachlan says the move has been life-changing. 🏆

“I love being an electrician and I only wish I'd made the decision sooner. My TAFE NSW course is a great mix of theory and practical, and the teachers really help you understand the course work in your own time."

TAFE NSW Albury Head Teacher of Electrotechnology Tom Retford said: “We're seeing more people come to electrotechnology after working in other industries because they're looking for a career that offers variety, job security and the opportunity to develop highly sought-after skills."
