The RDAQ Annual Conference 2026 is a chance to pause, reconnect, and share what it really means to practise rural medicine.
From clinical workshops and policy discussions to shared stories and social events, it’s a space to learn, reflect and connect with others who understand the realities of rural practice.
RVTS will be there as an exhibitor — if you’re attending, come and say hello. Whether you’re exploring GP training pathways, targeted recruitment opportunities, or simply want to learn more about how RVTS supports doctors in rural and remote communities, we’d love to chat.

National Reconciliation Week is a time to reflect on our shared histories, relationships and futures, and to consider the role each of us plays in moving reconciliation forward.
At RVTS, we recognise the importance of listening, learning and continuing to strengthen culturally safe practice in the work we do across rural, remote and Aboriginal Medical Service settings.
We are committed to supporting doctors, communities and culturally informed healthcare through ongoing learning, connection and respect.
This week, we acknowledge the importance of truth-telling, partnership and action in creating a more equitable future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Working in an Aboriginal Medical Service is unlike any other setting in general practice.
It’s not just about treating patients. It’s about understanding community, building trust over time, and delivering care that reflects culture, connection and lived experience.
Through the RVTS AMS Stream, doctors can train toward Fellowship while continuing to work within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services — supported by remote supervision, structured education and dedicated cultural mentoring.
Stay in one location for the duration of training and enjoy the benefits of building relationships and delivering continuity of care over years.
For many doctors, it’s one of the most meaningful ways to practice.
