Rules of Engagement

In joining our community on Facebook, Albury High School follows the Department of Education Code of Conduct and Facebook Terms and Conditions. Students
Facebook Terms and Conditions state no one under the age of 13 years should have a Facebook profile. Therefore, any comments or 'Likes' by primary students on the Albury High School page will be removed and if warranted users will be reported. Tagging or naming student photos
Photos of students are posted with reference to Department of Education publishing permission forms, completed on enrolment and other parent permission forms. For privacy and protection, please do not tag photos of children, and please do not name them in your comments. Tagging of parents or friends within the comment box is permitted with the understanding that all other rules of engagement are followed. Comments policy

AUSTRALIAN WATER POLO SELECTIONS – AHS STUDENTS SHINE ON THE NATIONAL STAGE!

A huge congratulations to Toby and Liam, who have been selected in the Australian Under 18 Water Polo Development Squad following their outstanding performances at the Water Polo Australia National State Championships held during the school holidays.

A special mention goes to Toby, who captained the NSW team to victory in the Under 18 National Championships! This fantastic achievement continues what has been an incredible year of water polo for Toby, whose dedication, leadership and performances in the pool have been rewarded with national recognition.

Albury High School was also proudly represented by a number of talented students competing for NSW, Victoria and the ACT across different age divisions at the National State Championships.

It is wonderful to see so many Albury High School students competing at the national level, demonstrating the strength of water polo in our local community. Their achievements reflect the dedication of the athletes, their families and the local clubs and coaches who continue to support their development.

Congratulations to all our water polo representatives, and a special well done to Toby and Liam on their Australian Development Squad selections. We are incredibly proud of your achievements!

🏃‍♀️ RIVERINA PSSA ATHLETICS 🏃‍♂️

A fantastic opportunity for our Stage 5 PASS students, who completed the Athletics – Student Officials Course at school the day before the carnival, expertly delivered by Sarah and John.

The students then put their new skills straight into action at the Riverina PSSA Athletics Championships in Albury in early September, assisting officials across the track and field events and helping the day run smoothly.

The feedback from the Riverina team was fantastic:

“The kids were amazing. Both at school and at the track. Super keen and willing to have a go at anything.” – Sarah

A great example of learning beyond the classroom, developing practical skills and giving back to our wider sporting community.

Well done to our PASS students – you represented Albury High brilliantly!

📣💙 ANXIETY IN OUR SCHOOLS – INFORMATION NIGHT 💙📣

We strongly encourage parents, carers, educators and school leaders to join us at Albury High School next Monday evening for an important information session exploring childhood and adolescent anxiety.

Monday 12 October
⏰ 6.30pm–8.30pm
📍 Albury High School Hall
🎤 Presenter: Michael Hawton, Lead Psychologist

Michael will explore what is driving anxiety in children and teenagers, what the evidence tells us actually helps, and importantly, the practical things that the adults around young people can do to help them develop the skills and confidence to manage challenges.

Why is it important to come along?
Supporting young people is most effective when families and schools are working together. We want our students to develop resilience and learn how to manage difficult emotions – but that requires the adults around them to have a shared understanding, common language and practical strategies.

The Anxiety Project takes a whole-school approach, involving students, staff and parents rather than focusing solely on the individual child. A key part of the approach is equipping the adults around young people to help them problem-solve, reframe challenges and face normal life difficulties with greater confidence.

The Anxiety Project 2026-2027 is not about removing every challenge or uncomfortable feeling from our children's lives. It is about giving them the skills to navigate those challenges successfully – and making sure that we, as the adults supporting them, know when to step in, when to encourage and how to respond.

We would love to see a strong turnout from our Albury High families. Two hours of your time could provide some incredibly valuable strategies for the many years of parenting still ahead.

🎓💙 CLASS OF 1996 – 30 YEAR REUNION 💙🎓

What a wonderful weekend of reunions at Albury High School!
Along with welcoming back our Class of 1986, we were also delighted to host the Class of 1996 as they celebrated their 30 Year School Reunion.

Around 30 former students joined us for a tour of the school, taking the opportunity to revisit old classrooms, share plenty of memories and see just how much Albury High has changed – while also discovering that some things remain reassuringly familiar!

The group then continued their celebrations at the Star Hotel, spending the evening catching up, reminiscing and simply enjoying each other’s company.

A huge thank you to Justine Parer, who coordinated the reunion and helped bring the group back together. It was wonderful to hear so many positive reflections about their years at Albury High and to see friendships formed at school still going strong three decades later.

We often remind our students that when you attend Albury High, you become part of a tradition that stretches back more than a century. Your time here may represent only a small part of your life, but it is an opportunity to make it count – to get involved, build relationships and create friendships and experiences that can stay with you well into the future.

It was also a great opportunity to share with our alumni what Albury High looks like today, the opportunities we are providing our current students, and some of our plans for the future.

A special thank you to our 2026/27 Prefects, who once again gave up their time to assist with the tour and proudly represent our school.

Thank you, Class of 1996, for coming back and reconnecting with your school. Thirty years on, you are still very much part of the Albury High tradition. 🎓

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ NSWCHS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS – WHAT A TEAM! 💙🏅

Over the past few posts, we have celebrated the outstanding medal-winning performances of Baylee and Isla at the NSWCHS Athletics Championships – but they certainly weren’t alone in representing Albury High on the state stage!

We had a fantastic contingent of athletes qualify to compete at Sydney Olympic Park, taking on some of the very best school athletes from across NSW.

There were some terrific individual performances across the track and field, including Will finishing 5th in Javelin, Deckon placing 8th in High Jump, Ethan competing in an incredible six individual events and making a few finals, Ryder qualifying for the 100m final, Freya competing in both the 1500m and 3000m, and Annabel finishing 8th in the 1500m.

Our girls and boys also proudly represented AHS in the 4 x 100m relays, with our 14 Years Girls team producing a fantastic performance to finish 7th in the state final. 👏

Congratulations also to Elsie, Melody, Grace, Cleo, Gemma, Danika, Clindy, Ammika, Lola, Amira, Sophie, Beth, Amelia, Legacy and Owen, who all earned the opportunity to represent Albury High at this elite level of school sport.

Simply qualifying for a NSWCHS State Championship is an outstanding achievement. It takes plenty of training, commitment and progression through the representative pathway just to earn your place on the start line or in the field.

We are incredibly proud of the way this group represented Albury High School and Riverina.
And, of course, congratulations again to Baylee and Isla on their brilliant medal-winning performances – what a fantastic championship for AHS! 🥈🥉💙

🏗️ Our new Wellbeing Gym is taking shape! 💪

There’s been plenty happening behind the scenes at Albury High School as our exciting new Wellbeing Gym moves closer to completion.

Since work began in June, Premier Building & Construction has been busy transforming the space, and it’s fantastic to see the project really starting to come together.

The external cladding is now complete, security gates and shutters have been installed, galvanised downpipe covers are in place, and external works are now underway. Each week brings us another step closer to opening this fantastic new facility for our students and school community.

The Wellbeing Gym will provide another dedicated space where our students can focus on physical activity, fitness and wellbeing, complementing the many sporting, wellbeing and learning opportunities already available at Albury High School.

We’re looking forward to seeing the finishing touches come together over the coming weeks — not long to go now! 👏

A big thank you to the team at Premier Building & Construction for their work on site and for helping bring our vision for this new space to life.

🥈 NSWCHS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS – ISLA 🏃‍♀️💙

Our next outstanding result from the NSWCHS Athletics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park comes from Isla, who produced two fantastic performances in the throwing events.

🥈 15 Years Discus – 2nd – 37.59m
👏 15 Years Javelin – 5th – 35.25m

Isla’s brilliant 37.59m Discus throw earned her the silver medal, and you’ll see footage of that medal-winning throw in this post! 🥈🎥

Finishing second in NSW is an outstanding achievement and, combined with a fifth-place finish in the Javelin, capped off a fantastic championship for Isla.

Congratulations, Isla! Another Albury High athlete performing brilliantly on the state stage. 💙👏

🎓💙 CLASS OF 1986 – 40 YEAR REUNION 💙🎓
What a wonderful afternoon of memories, laughter and friendship as we welcomed the Class of 1986 back to Albury High School yesterday as part of their 40 Year School Reunion celebrations.

Around 60 former students joined us for a school tour beginning at 1pm, and it was fantastic to see the joy and camaraderie within the group as they wandered through the school, revisited familiar places and chatted with current staff and students. There were plenty of questions, stories and, of course, memories of how things used to be!

The celebrations continued last night at Sodens, with an incredible 105 people attending the reunion.

A special congratulations and thank you to our former P&C President, Brooke Costello, who coordinated the reunion and brought so many members of the Class of 1986 back together.

For those of us at Albury High today, it was wonderful to see that the friendships and connections formed at school can remain so strong 40 years later. Once part of the Albury High community, you will always have a connection to our school.

Thank you, Class of 1986, for coming back to visit – it was an absolute pleasure to welcome you home! 🎓👏

🧵 HSC SHAPE NOMINATION – MAISIE 🧵

A huge congratulations to Maisie, who has been nominated for SHAPE, an exhibition showcasing outstanding major projects completed by HSC students, for her Textiles and Design Major Project.

A SHAPE nomination is wonderful recognition of the creativity, skill, dedication and many hours of work that go into producing an HSC major project. We are incredibly proud to see Maisie’s work recognised at this level.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank Maisie’s teacher, Cara Karakasch, and Dubbo Distance Education Centre for delivering and supporting the Textiles class throughout 2025/26.

Opportunities such as these demonstrate the value of schools working together to provide students with access to subjects that allow them to pursue their interests and talents.

Congratulations, Maisie – a fantastic achievement and wonderful recognition of your hard work! 🌟🧵

🏃‍♀️🏅 NSWCHS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏅🏃‍♀️

Congratulations to Baylee, who produced some outstanding performances at the NSWCHS Athletics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park in September.

Competing across four events, Baylee achieved some fantastic results:

🥈 Long Jump – 2nd – 5.25m
🥉 200m – 3rd in the final – 26.99
🏃‍♀️ 400m – 6th – 1:00.9
🏃‍♀️ 100m – 8th in the final – 13.45

One of the highlights came in the Long Jump, where Baylee saved her best until last, producing a brilliant 5.25m on her final jump of the competition to claim the silver medal! 🥈👏

You’ll also see some great footage of Baylee competing in the 200m final, where she powered home to take the bronze medal against some of the best young athletes in NSW.

To qualify for finals at the NSWCHS Championships across four events is an achievement in itself, but to return home with two state medals – silver and bronze – is an outstanding result.

Congratulations, Baylee! Another fantastic achievement representing Albury High School on the state stage. 💙👏
