The target group of our campaign.
Our target group is aimed at 16-28 year olds (both male and female).
The purpose of our campaign.
For our campaign we chose a variety of different topics to raise awareness of their effect on the road. The tagline ‘It Happens to You Too’ is made to inform people about how anything that can happen to more experienced drivers, can happen to them too.
Why did we choose a variety of road safety behaviours?
We chose these topics because younger people don’t think ahead of the consequences of their actions. It is proven that, 45% of all young Australian injury deaths are due to road traffic crashes. This goes to show that young people think they are more experienced when they just got on the road. “Young drivers (17 – 25 years) represent one-quarter of all Australian road deaths, but are only 10 – 15% of the licensed driver population”. This proves that they don’t know the extreme of the consequences, they are more prone to accidents.
Express how you can bring public awareness to the issue?
We think that expressing this campaign through video media they will visually see the actions and consequences. We feel the success rate of our campaign is higher if we present it in a way that is familiar to younger people, so through video
