Okay so I’m pretty sure my first post is “supposed to be” a self introduction or something but I’m not feeling the energy for that right now. (That’s Human Design speak for: “I don’t wanna”)
Human Design is really just an energy experiment and I’ve been experimenting hard. I’m a Manifesting Generator which means that I am multi-passionate and can be REALLY into something one day and then completely onto something else the next. Some might call this flakey 🫢😬 but Human Design calls it awesome.
I always felt like this directionless way was some sort of internal flaw so I almost cried when I learned that it’s actually how I’m meant to use my energy. I’ve fully embraced this part of myself now and it feels like magic. I never know the purpose of a random obsession but there is ALWAYS a purpose. For example:
I was OBSESSED with Ayurvedic living for about two months. (Shoutout to Natural Focus Foods for their amazing Ayurveda section) I had a whole morning routine. I would wake up, brush my body with a hard bristle brush, slather myself with coconut oil and swish coconut oil in my mouth for 20 mins while I got my daughter ready for school. (I was like a shiny drill sergeant with a speech impediment). Then I’d brush with natural toothpaste and drink some hot water with lemon.
During those two months I ate A LOT of Dhal, I took some interesting tinctures and concoctions and I got rid of everything in the house that wasn’t completely natural. I read books, listened to podcasts, Ayurveda was my new way of life. Then all of a sudden, it wasn’t. The only thing that really stuck (off and on) was the coconut oil swishing.
Another thing about me is that I’m an excellent avoider. (Human Design doesn’t call this awesome- they call it “not-self” 😳)
A year and a half ago, my Dentist told me I was gonna need some sort of scary gum surgery. I had a few “4 millimetre pockets” and I have no idea what that means except that it’s bad and I’m old now. I was supposed to go every 3 months to monitor the situation but I didn’t go back until last week. 🤦🏼♀️
I walked in, sat down and the receptionist said, “Long time no see”, with a disapproving look. Clearly not pleased that I had dodged a year and a half of her phone calls and texts. But also, they aren’t your gums lady, calm down…
I wonder what time she was born…
Anyway, I wasn’t too nervous until I was in the waiting room and googled the looming surgery and found out that they take skin from the roof of your mouth and attach it to your gums! 🤢!!!!!!
BUT as soon as I opened my mouth it was nothing but shock, amazement and complements from the hygienist. She couldn’t believe how clean my teeth were after not being there for so long. She was like, “What have you been doing?!?” I told her the only thing I’ve done different was swish with coconut oil. 💥
When she measured my gums she called in another hygienist and the dentist because my gums had COMPLETELY REGENERATED!!!! They all couldn’t believe their eyes and I felt very proud of my unintentional recovery and very relieved that there was no more risk of the scary surgery.
So, my 2 month affair with Ayurveda saved my gums and my pride. I walked out past the judgey reception lady, flashed a gummy smile and flipped her the bird.
Just kidding, I didn’t flip her the bird. 🤭
