Reception students (and staff!) recently celebrated 100 days of InitiaLit learning by dressing up as their favourite phonics character!
InitiaLit is our evidence based whole class Reception literacy program; the foundation stage of the MultiLit program offered across our Early Years.
It provides students with the essential core knowledge and strong foundations to become successful readers and writers!

Showcasing our student artists and their superb artworks, OLQP's third SALA Festival exhibition was, yet again, a massive success!
Held at Ngutungka West Lakes, it was a great honour that the event was opened by special guest, Rachel McElwee, Director, Hahndorf Academy.
The quality and maturity of the artworks are a result of the students' Visual Art studies, under the direction of specialist Art teacher and professional artist, Suzanne Healey.
Our participation in the South Australian Living Artists Festival takes learning inside the classroom out into the wider community, and provides our students with the opportunity to realise their potential in a real-world context.

To conclude their "Charlotte's Web" novel study this term, Year 3 students participated in our inaugural County Fair today!
Over the course of the day, students participated in a variety of County Fair style activities, including old fashioned games of skills.
Highlights of the day were the cake decorating and dog show competitions, judged by our special guests - Georgina, Alice, and Julia from City Of Charles Sturt council - and the art competition, judged by our specialist Art teacher, Suzanne Healey!
Sincere thanks to our parent community who supported their children's participation, as well as the Year 6 students who helped facilitate the activities!

Happy !
Today we are reminded of the unconditional love of our fathers and other significant caregivers.
OLQP staff proudly facilitated our Father's Day breakfast, where fathers, grandfathers, and all significant caregivers of our students were celebrated.
It is also a time to support, comfort and respect:
• those wanting to be fathers and parents,
• fathers and parents who have lost a child,
• those who have lost fathers,
• people who do not know their fathers, and
• those who have difficult father/child relationships.

Learning can happen anywhere.

Research tells us that access to natural environments can have a positive impact on learning and wellbeing. It was delightful to see the Year 1AC class immersed in their literacy lesson in the Junior Nature Play area. The students were engaged, focused and smiling, making the most of this beautiful learning space.

This week, we celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary with a whole-school Mass, a Holy Day of Obligation.

As Principal, I was incredibly proud of our students. Their behaviour, reverence and engagement throughout the celebration were outstanding. While we gather for Mass or liturgy only a few times each term, our students demonstrated a strong understanding of respect and social etiquette, treating the church as the sacred space that it is.

Their participation was a wonderful reflection of our school values and faith tradition, and it was certainly one of those moments that made me feel very proud to be Principal.
