Mantras for parents are more than positive thoughts. They can retrain our subconsciousness to help increase our motivation to solve problems, find goodness in the world, and accept ourselves as we are. And as we grow, we can better model positive behavior for our children.

What peaceful parenting mantras do you have?

Why is outdoor play especially important under the age of 7 years for the visual sense?
"Children are not biologically ready to focus at a close-up range until age 7. Up until this age the eye muscles, the shape of the lens of the eye, and the rods and cones are designed for three-dimensional, peripheral, and distance vision.
Additionally, and of critical importance, is that motor coordination, eye muscle control, and brain maturation begin to synchronize at this age, which enables eye teaming and binocular vision - key skills needed for learning - to develop naturally.
Outdoor play creates opportunities for kinesthetic experiences and motor development, which along with exposure to natural elements help nurture the processes that shape healthy vision development."
