What life this group of Year Five's from Great Southern Grammar brought to Parliament House this week.

It's such a pleasure to have young energy and fun inside the big house on the hill and see our future in them.

So important to teach our kids how Parliament works, how it affects us all and how they can take part of the process as they grow up.

This week, we pause to reflect, learn and walk together as a community.
Over the past fortnight, our students have deepened their understanding of reconciliation, exploring First Nations knowledge through Science Week and the theme Recognising Indigenous Science, walking to the local Fish Traps, and sharing powerful reflections. We were also proud to see students involved in the Kaarla Wirren performance.
Through the guidance of generous guest speakers and knowledge holders, students strengthened their connection to culture and Country.
The new art installations near the Annette Knight Centre stand as a lasting symbol of this learning, honouring Menang culture and representing the six Noongar seasons. Created on Country at Red Moort Reserve by our Year 11 students and enriched by our Primary studentsโ€™ contributions, they reflect respect, creativity, and a deep connection to place. Cultural knowledge and guidance were generously shared by Aunty Carol Pettersen, Shandell Cummings, and Jessikah Woods.
Together, we continue to listen, learn, and walk forward with respect. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’™ Leading with Heart in Our Community ๐Ÿ’™
Year 6 student Taylah Gent is showing what it means to lead with compassion. As part of our Year 6 Anchor Leadership Program, she has been collecting essential items to support Soroptimist International Albany and the local Women's Centre/Refuge.
Her incredible efforts were featured on the news, highlighting the impact one young person can make.
At GSG, our Anchor Program empowers students to develop character, leadership and a commitment to service. Taylah is a wonderful example of this in action.
We are so proud of you, Taylah ๐Ÿ’™
