As part of our NAIDOC celebrations this year the Gifted Gems painted on recycled brown paper using natural materials
Ash, tumeric, corn flour, charcoal, mud, clay, and sand mixed with water
The affect was very much like rock art or cave paintings that you might come across in the bush.
This was to help the children understand what traditional aboriginal people used before modern day paint
We have hung this artwork up on our wall along with a lot of other art pieces that we have gathered over the years that our children have created.

Over the week the KK Team started preparing for NAIDOC
Displays have come together ready to celebrate the week

The official National NAIDOC Week theme for 2026 is "50 Years of Deadly".Celebrating a major milestone, this theme marks five decades of NAIDOC Week as a dedicated platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to amplify their voices, celebrate culture, and lead change. It reflects the pride, survival, and resilience of First Nations peoples. In Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts, "deadly" is a term used to celebrate something that is amazing, strong, and exceptionally good.

The Gifted Gems are exploring the sea this week and here we see them melting ice blocks using salty water spray.

In our Tiny Treasures room we have a play pen for our little ones to roll around on the floor safely without having the walkers bump and climb on them.
This space can also become a quiet space for children to escape the hustle and bustle of the rest of the room when they want, taking themselves in and out of the door way.

Taking the time to sit with the babies as they drift off to sleep.
Our Educators also sit in our cot room with the babies to monitor their sleep during the major sleep period.
Regular 10 minute individual physical sleep checks are done.
We also have an infrared CCTV camera in our cot room that is monitored from the office.

Babies in Leaves
This morning was the babies turn to explore the rustle of the leaves!
How much fun to be able to crawl through a big pile of leaves and throw them in the air, giggles and laughs and squeals of delight could be heard from many a Tiny Treasure and they crinkled big leaves in their small hands.
