🧵✨ The Year 7 and 8 Enrichment class has been exploring the world of fashion design and textiles! Students have been sketching their own designs, experimenting with recycled fabrics to create upcycled projects, and developing new skills on the sewing machines.

Enrichment is all about fostering creativity, problem-solving, student-led learning and real-world application. It provides opportunities for students to pursue their interests, take on challenges, and bring their ideas to life in practical ways.

This class has quickly become a highlight of the week for many students, and we continue to be impressed by their enthusiasm, engagement and willingness to have a go. We can't wait to see their finished creations! ✨🪡♻️

Primary School Cross Country! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🌧️

Well done to all our amazing runners! You showed perseverance, joy and resilience today despite the rainy conditions. We are so proud of the way students encouraged one another and gave their best right to the finish line.

A huge shout out to all our parents who braved the rain to cheer the students on, and to our PE staff for all their hard work in making the event possible.

Yesterday, Bethel joined schools across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime.

Our ELC students embraced this year’s sports-themed book with a sporty dress-up day, they gathered together to enjoy the story reading. Afterwards, they headed outside for character scavenger hunts and a giant inflatable soccer game, bringing the story to life through play.

Over at the main campus, our secondary students buddied up with primary students to spend time reading and enjoying books together. It was fantastic to see students of all ages connecting through stories and sharing in the fun of reading!

🐸 Frog Discovery in the ELC! 🐸
Last week, the Pre-Primary children discovered a frog in the ELC playground! The children have been carefully observing its features and wondering what type of frog it could be.

Our Year 7 and 8 Enrichment students have been diving into the fascinating world of Western Australia’s gemstones and minerals, investigating the diversity of materials found across our state and learning how to distinguish between minerals and gemstones.

Next, they will construct detailed profiles of selected gems and minerals, exploring features such as the Mohs scale of hardness, common uses, locations in Western Australia, methods of extraction or mining, rarity, lustre, and the potential for cutting and polishing, as well as value.

It has been excellent to see students so engaged in these hands-on, real-world enrichment experiences that connect classroom learning with the natural resources and industries of Western Australia.

Last week our Year 11 Psychology students stepped beyond the classroom and into authentic, real world learning as they visited our Year 1 class to explore developmental changes in Piaget’s pre-operational stage.

Psychology explores the scientific study of human cognition, emotion and behaviour. Students examine theories and models developed by well-known psychologists and apply them to real-world contexts. It was fantastic to see our students confidently putting theory into practice, thinking critically about development and building meaningful connections with the year 1 class!

The Ball! 💃🕺

On Friday the 24th of April, students from BCS and ACC came together to celebrate an unforgettable Senior School Ball! Students danced the night away to an energetic DJ set, shared delicious food, and enjoyed time with friends. From the vibrant dance floor to the joyful atmosphere throughout the evening, the celebration was one to remember. The night ended on a high with a lively praise party, bringing a memorable evening to a perfect close.

Canteen closed? Never mind, our students are onto it! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
Our Year 11 and 12 Hospitality students are excited to serve the Bethel community by offering a limited menu next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Orders are open for ELC through to Secondary.
