🛍️ The year 7 students put their economics skills to the test with one of our favourite HASS projects this term - the Table Top Shop!
To demonstrate their learning, they formed groups and created small businesses to design, mass produce, market and sell a product (or more) to a target group. The project culminated in inviting several primary classes along to purchase items using tokens, with the team who made the most "money" at the end taking out the win! 🏆
A rich task that engaged the students and incorporated so many economic concepts. Well done, year 7s!

Throughout Term 2 the year 3/4 class have teamed with a group of year 7s to make an impact on our local community through a school Foodbank drive. In week 11, the Foodbank van collected our donations. As a school we collectively donated 200kg, which makes 400 meals and feeds 40-45 families this winter. Thank you, Bethel, for this amazing impact! Extra special congratulations to the year 5 class who donated the most with 50kg of food given!

The year 4 class completed their 40-hour challenge of no electricity this week. They completed 2 full days of learning without screens or even lights. Part of this challenge was a sleepover at school. It's amazing how fun life can be without electricity - games outside, spotlight, campfire, s'mores, board games and great conversation was had by all! Special thanks to our amazing parent volunteers who helped make this a success!

Day three! Our teams demonstrated resilience out there today, battling the elements, some tough opponents, and a few sore muscles, but the best part was simply sharing it all with each other. We wrapped up the day by conquering the challenge rooms and refueling with Vietnamese food! Overall morale is high and we are ready for what Thursday will bring. Let’s go Bethel! 🥳

What a day! Tuesday tested our teams with wild weather and fierce competition, but everyone fought hard. After a massive day of sport, students unwound and bonded over delicious team dinners around the city, sampling cuisines from Korean BBQ to Indian, with loaded Yo-Chi bowls to end. For some, spa recovery time was the go. All in all, a great day! 🏆
