WORKSHOP IN ALBANY
Smart Steps: Making smarter choices, taking smarter steps
Date: Tuesday 8th September, 2020
Time: 3:30pm – 5:30pm
Venue: Great Southern Engagement Centre, 117 Serpentine Road, Albany, WA.
This workshop targets early childhood educators working with children aged 0-8 years old. Participants will receive a free Smart Steps resource pack and gain an understanding about how to engage children in road safety education.
Workshop outcomes
This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to:
explore why children are at risk in traffic and how to guide them to become safer road users
unpack the Smart Steps resources about passenger and pedestrian safety, and safety on wheels
explore strategies to engage children in road safety education and how to embed this into their early learning curriculum and practices
consider the links between Smart Steps and the Early Years Learning Framework, WA Health and Physical Education Syllabus, Kindergarten Curriculum Guide and National Quality Standards.
