πŸŽ‰ WOW! What an incredible result! πŸŽ‰

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful Rainbow families, staff, committee members, volunteers, and community for supporting our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser over the weekend.

We are thrilled to announce that together we raised just short of $2,000 for Rainbow Child Care Centre! 🌈

This amazing achievement would not have been possible without the generous donations, helping hands, and everyone who came along to purchase a sausage sizzle, cold drink, or simply stopped by to say hello.

A special thank you to our dedicated volunteers who gave up their Sunday to help set up, cook, serve, and pack down. Your hard work and commitment to our centre is truly appreciated.

As a community-based centre, fundraising efforts like these help us provide additional resources, experiences, and opportunities for our children. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring community. Thank you for helping make this fundraiser such a fantastic success! ❀️

🎡 What a fantastic couple of days of learning, laughter, and music! 🎡

Our team recently had the opportunity to attend professional development with Leonie Cecich – Kids and Music, alongside fellow educators from YMCA Albany. It was wonderful to come together with other early childhood professionals to share ideas, experiences, and a passion for supporting children's learning through music.

The session was uplifting and inspiring, with Leonie teaching us new songs, revisiting some old favourites, and helping us better understand the important role music plays in children's learning and development. We explored how music can support language development, social connections, emotional regulation, movement and so much more.

Today, we were incredibly lucky to welcome Leonie to Rainbow Child Care Centre, where she spent time engaging directly with our children through music, movement, and fun-filled activities. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and enthusiastic participation from both children and educators alike!

A huge thank you to Leonie for sharing her passion, knowledge, and energy with us, and to YMCA Albany for joining us in this valuable professional learning opportunity. We can't wait to continue incorporating these wonderful musical experiences into our daily program. 🎢❀️

πŸŒΏπŸ‚ Our Djerups Reconciliation Tree πŸ‚πŸŒΏ

One of our wonderful educators has worked alongside the children in the Djerups Room to create this beautiful Reconciliation Tree, celebrating connection, belonging, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Using their handprints painted in the colours of the Aboriginal flag, each child has left their own unique mark on the tree, symbolising that we all play a part in growing a community that values diversity, inclusion, and understanding. The natural leaves and artwork displayed around the tree have created a warm and meaningful space for the children to explore and learn.

Through experiences such as these, even our youngest learners are beginning to develop an appreciation for culture, identity, and connection to Country. β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

A big thank you to our educator for creating such a thoughtful and engaging display and for supporting our children to participate in this meaningful experience.

πŸŒˆπŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ **Exploring Culture, Identity and the Senses in Djerup** β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€πŸŒˆ

Our Djerup Room has been filled with rich learning opportunities as the children explored a variety of sensory experiences, dramatic play invitations and activities recognising and celebrating National Reconciliation Week.

Through thoughtfully curated sensory trays, the children investigated different textures, colours and materials while developing their fine motor skills, language and curiosity. From discovering hidden treasures in shredded paper, to exploring animal habitats, "dessert" sensory play and colour-themed loose parts experiences, there was plenty to investigate and enjoy.

As part of our recognition of National Reconciliation Week, the children engaged with Indigenous-inspired learning experiences that encouraged exploration of symbols, tracks, storytelling and connection to Country. Through hands-on play, children were introduced to concepts of belonging, respect and appreciation for Aboriginal culture in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.

Our dramatic play spaces continued to support children's imagination and creativity, with dress-ups, props and open-ended resources inviting children to take on different roles, tell stories and build relationships with their peers.

We were especially proud of the beautiful handprint display created by the children with our wonderful educator, symbolising unity, respect and coming together as we learn about Australia's shared history and culture.

These carefully planned experiences reflect our commitment to creating environments where children can explore, wonder, discover and develop a strong sense of who they are and where they belong. πŸ’›

πŸ’§πŸŒˆ **A Simple Idea, Endless Learning!** πŸŒˆπŸ’§

A huge thank you to one of our wonderful educators who created this fantastic water wall for our Djerup and Yonga children to explore!

Using recycled materials and a little creativity, this engaging learning space quickly became a favourite amongst the children. As they poured, tipped, experimented and observed the movement of water through the different bottles and funnels, they were developing important skills including problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, fine motor control and early scientific thinking.

The water wall encouraged curiosity, investigation and collaboration as children worked together to predict where the water would travel next and discover how different amounts of water affected the flow.

It's amazing to see how a simple, thoughtfully created resource can provide hours of meaningful play and learning opportunities. We love watching our children explore, experiment and learn through hands-on experiences every day.

Well done to our educator for creating such a wonderful addition to our outdoor environment! πŸ’™πŸ’¦

🌈 **Koomals Room Adventures** 🌈

What a busy and exciting time we've been having in the Koomals Room!

Our children have been exploring, creating, problem-solving and learning through play in so many different ways. From designing and constructing incredible box creations using recycled materials, to building imaginative structures with magnetic tiles, our little engineers have been hard at work developing their creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills.

We've also been strengthening our hand-eye coordination and early mathematical thinking through puzzles, counting activities and loose parts play. The children have enjoyed investigating shapes, patterns, numbers and spatial awareness while having fun with their friends.

Our interest in local wildlife continued as we explored magpies through stories, discussions and drawing experiences. The children were encouraged to observe closely, share their ideas and express their understanding through their own unique artwork.

Of course, no week in Koomals would be complete without some messy play! Digging, scooping, pouring and transporting in the mud and sand pit provided endless opportunities for sensory exploration, teamwork and imaginative play.

It is wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious and eager to learn. We love watching their ideas come to life as they investigate the world around them and build confidence in their own abilities every day. πŸ’›

🐝🍦🎨 Sensory Fun in the Djerups Room! 🎨🍦🐝

Our little explorers have been busy engaging in a variety of hands-on sensory experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and learning through play.

🍦 Ice Cream Playdough Shop
The children enjoyed creating delicious "ice creams" using our homemade playdough made with icing sugar. The soft, silky texture provided a wonderful sensory experience while encouraging imagination, fine motor development, and social interactions as they scooped, served, and decorated their creations with sprinkles.

🎨 Colour Exploration with Eye Droppers
Our budding scientists experimented with colours using eye droppers and coloured water. This activity encouraged concentration, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skill development as children carefully squeezed, mixed, and observed the colours changing before their eyes.

🐝 World Bee Day Sensory Play
To celebrate World Bee Day, we created a bee-themed sensory tray complete with flowers, bees, and a bright yellow sensory base. The children explored the importance of bees in our environment while engaging their senses through touch, movement, and imaginative play.

At Rainbow Child Care Centre, we love providing opportunities for children to learn through meaningful, play-based experiences that support their development while having lots of fun! πŸ’›

Your commitment, ideas, encouragement and care for our little Rainbow community does not go unnoticed. We truly appreciate everything you do to support our centre now and into the future.
