Today, one of our Year 7 TORCH classes put their scientific thinking to the test as they designed and experimented with parachutes! ✨

Using their understanding of forces, students investigated how factors such as size, shape and materials can affect the way an object falls through the air. By making observations, collecting data and refining their designs, they explored how air resistance can slow an object's descent.

From successful soft landings to a few unexpected crashes, students embraced the engineering design process - asking questions, testing ideas and learning from the results. 🚀📊

It's fantastic to see our young scientists applying their classroom learning through hands-on investigation and problem-solving. Well done Year 7! TORCH!👏🧠

HIGH JUMP RECORD BROKEN | What a fantastic achievement by Year 9 student Isabella, who has soared to a new Albany Creek State High School High Jump record! 🎉

Today Isabella cleared 1.54m, breaking the previous school record of 1.53m, which had stood since 1992. Even more impressive, the jump was also a new personal best for Isabella! 👏

To break a record that has stood for 34 years is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to Isabella’s dedication, hard work and determination.

Congratulations Isabella! 💙💛

A big congratulations to Albany Creek SHS Football Excellence Program student Maddy, who recently represented Met North at the 13–15 Years Girls State Championships.

Maddy and her teammates enjoyed an outstanding tournament, remaining undefeated throughout the competition. Despite not losing a game, the team narrowly missed out on a higher placing and ultimately finished 5th overall in a highly competitive field.

Representing your region at a State Championship is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Maddy's efforts, commitment, and performances throughout the tournament.

⭐️Sydney Dance Eisteddfod ⭐️

Our 43 Dance Excellence Students from Years 7 to 12 have spent the day enjoying each others company and exploring educational attractions across Sydney. This was a well deserved break for our dancers making memories and celebrating the success they achieved at the Sydney Dance Eisteddfod on the weekend. Congratulations dancers, we look forward to acknowledging your achievements back at school. Great job AC!

1st for Junior Dance Excellence performing in the Musical Theatre Section. Senior Dance Excellence were also awarded Highly Commended in the Open Musical Theatre Section. This has been a spectacular day for our Dance Excellence Team.

Senior Dance Excellence have just been awarded Highly Commended in the open Jazz section. This was highly competitive with outstanding performers from across the country. Great job dancers what a fantastic opportunity to compete against the best.

Our Year 7, 8 and 9 Dance Excellence team have just been awarded 3rd Place for ‘River Deep’ and Highly Commended for ‘Schiebe’ in the Junior Jazz Section at the Sydney Eisteddfod. The Junior team have represented us proudly at this National Performing Arts Event.
