On Wednesday 2nd September, we celebrate and thank our wonderful team of educators who dedicate their time, hearts and energy to making a difference in the lives of our children and families every single day. 🥰

Thank you for the love, care, patience, kindness and dedication you show each and every child. From the big milestones to the little everyday moments, you help our children feel safe, supported, valued and loved. 🌈✨

Your role goes far beyond educating — you nurture, encourage, comfort, inspire, listen, play, guide and create memories that our children will carry with them as they grow. 🧸💕

🧪🚀 SCIENCE WEEK AT BIMBI ELK! 🌈🔬

What an exciting week of exploring, experimenting, predicting and discovering! Our children have been busy getting hands-on with some amazing science experiments across all our rooms. 🧪👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

🌋 Babies Room
Our little scientists created their very own volcano and were fascinated watching it erupt! 🌋

🌈 Toddlers Room
The Toddlers got messy and creative with a volcano experiment and explored colours with a beautiful rainbow jar experiment. 🌈🎨

🚀 3-Year-Old Kinder
Our 3-Year-Old Kinder scientists explored sink or float, discovered how flowers can change colour, and had a blast launching rockets as part of their science investigations! 🚀🌸💧

🔬 4-Year-Old Kinder
Our 4-Year-Old Kinder children took on a whole collection of exciting experiments, including:

🥚 Egg & Vinegar Experiment
💧 Sink or Float
🌿 Colour-Changing Celery
☁️ Rain Cloud in a Jar
🥛 Magic Milk

Through these experiences, our children developed their curiosity, observation, prediction, problem-solving and critical thinking skills while learning that science can be fun, messy and full of surprises! 🤩

We loved seeing our little scientists make predictions, ask questions, observe changes and discover how things work. 💡🧠

Dental Health Week at Bimbi Early Learning & Kindergarten! ✨🦷

This week our children have been busy exploring all things Dental Health, healthy eating and nutrition, and learning how to keep their smiles bright and healthy! 😁

Our Toddlers had so much fun discovering the difference between foods that make our teeth happy 😊 and sad ☹️ by working together on our giant cardboard mouth, sorting healthy and unhealthy foods. They also enjoyed story time with Mr. Brushalotmus and shared conversations about visiting the dentist, helping to build confidence and familiarity with dental check-ups.

To finish off the week, the children got creative by painting with toothbrushes using red, blue and white paint—just like the colours of toothpaste! This fun sensory experience encouraged children to explore different painting techniques while reinforcing the importance of using a toothbrush every day.

Our 3-Year-Old Kindergarten children explored the Healthy Eating Pyramid and had some wonderful discussions about making healthy food choices. We loved hearing their thoughtful ideas:

💬 "Sometimes food can make holes in your teeth." – Emerson
💬 "Healthy food is good for all parts of us." – Joseph

Our 4-Year-Old Kindergarten children showcased their creativity by drawing their own healthy afternoon tea snack boxes, proudly sharing the nutritious foods they enjoy at home. They also loved getting hands-on with a messy play experience, using toothbrushes to scrub and clean LEGO blocks, learning that brushing carefully helps keep our teeth sparkling clean!

Throughout the week, children have been learning:
🪥 The importance of brushing their teeth effectively twice a day.
🥕 How healthy foods help keep our teeth and bodies strong.
🦷 Why regular visits to the dentist are important.
😁 How taking care of our teeth helps us smile with confidence.

A huge thank you to our educators for creating such engaging and meaningful learning experiences that encourage healthy habits from a young age. We are so proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity our children have shown throughout Dental Health Week, and we look forward to seeing these healthy habits continue at home!

💙 Pyjama Week at Bimbi ELK! 💙

This week we're proudly supporting The Pyjama Foundation and helping make a difference in the lives of children living in foster care.

Our amazing staff have created 2027 Staff Calendars, available with a $5 donation each. Every calendar sold helps raise funds, with 100% of proceeds going directly to The Pyjama Foundation.

🖤💛❤️ Celebrating NAIDOC Week at Bimbi ELK ❤️💛🖤

This week, our children had a fantastic time taking part in a special Marngrook Kids session with representatives from the Essendon Football Club.

Inspired by the traditional Aboriginal game of Marngrook - widely acknowledged as a forerunner to modern Australian football – the incursion program used physical activity, storytelling and cultural games to foster deep learning, connection and cultural awareness in students.

The 3 & 4 year old kinder children's session addressed key learning outcomes including:
• Students are connected with and contribute to their world
• Marngrook Kids fosters respect for Country and Community, helping students understand the interconnectedness of people and nature.
• Physical movement, mindfulness activities, and cultural rhythms support student’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Active participation in cultural games and storytelling cultivates curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
• Through music, movement and collaborative play, students develop both verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Content delivered included:
• Traditional Games: Playing traditional Indigenous games such as Marngrook, Kai, Edor and Boojur kombang to develop physical skills, teamwork and social interaction.
• Language: Incorporating local Indigenous language into delivery, for example Waa the crow and Wolert the possum.
• Art and Symbols: Learning Aboriginal art symbols through displays of Essendon’s Dreamtime jumpers.
• Artifacts and Tools: A safe, hands on demonstration of traditional objects, including clap sticks, emu caller and marngrook ball

Experiences like these provide meaningful opportunities for children to learn about and celebrate the rich cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A big thank you to Jack and Brendan and the Marngrook Kids team from Essendon Football Club for sharing this wonderful experience with our children and helping us celebrate NAIDOC Week.

Bimbi is excited to let you know that we will be taking part in Pyjama Week from Monday 20th July to Friday 24th July.

Pyjama Week raises awareness and funds for The Pyjama Foundation, a wonderful charity that supports children who have been placed in the foster care system. Through literacy and numeracy programs, along with dedicated volunteers known as Pyjama Angels, the Foundation provides one-on-one mentoring to help children build confidence, improve educational outcomes, and develop positive, stable relationships.

To show our support, we invite all children to come to the centre dressed in their favourite pyjamas throughout the week. It's a fun way to start conversations about kindness, community, and helping others while supporting a very worthwhile cause.
