Hi families and welcome to our first Bush Kinder,

It was such an amazing trip into the bush today. We started our walk by explaining the rules and ways how we can keep safe. Holding the guide rope and wearing our vests we set off walking down the road. When we reached the end of the road we looked all ways before crossing the road, making sure to walk calmly.

When we reached the bush we were able to let go of the rope and start exploring. Throughout our walk we saw such amazing things. We saw lots of pretty coloured flowers and native berries. We saw spiders, kookaburras, ants, and some kangaroo poo along our journey. We walked for such a long time deciding to walk either the left or the right path when we found a fork in the road.

On the adventure back we saw some cacti in the bush and we made sure to take a photo for our friend Azaan who loves them. At the end of the trip a few friends were sad to go back to school but were reassured they would come back another time.

What a great trip and what great listening and following instructions from everyone. Great work.

🧬🔬⚗️Science Week🩺🧪🧫

This week, in the preschool room, we decided to explore water and all of the amazing things we can learn about it including buoyancy, density, and suction. We made our own aluminium foil boats today and tested to see if they would float on water with or without things on top of them. We also explored the plastic bag and pencil experiment and even how rain clouds work using dye and shaving foam.

In the Toddlers/Babies room they have investigated volcanoes, walking colours with water, and even static electricity with balloons and glitter.

What fun experiences!!

🐘Elephant Day at Little Sparkles🐘

Yesterday, for National Elephant Day, we explored everything Elephant throughout the rooms with great, thought-provoking activities. In the toddler room Miss Tanya set out a fun ‘feed the Elephant’ experience. Using a small amount of water, an Elephant, tweezers, and cotton balls the Twinkles moved the cotton balls to the cup for the Elephant to pretend to eat. The toddlers seemed to really enjoy this experience picking up the ‘apples’ and ‘fruit’, giving the Elephant a healthy snack.

This week the children have been exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture due to children’s day being Tuesday, 4/8/26. The toddler room have been really engaged when reading books about Aboriginal people, and making their own boomerangs during craft time. The children used natural coloured paints and created so many beautiful designs. Later in the week Miss Sharon set up a target, using recycled paper bags, and encouraged the children to use their boomerangs, pretending to hunt for animals, as they threw them.

Crazy hair day 🤪

Today we had such fun celebrating crazy hair day. It was so great to see the fun hairstyles that the children and staff wore with so many colours and funny additions. We even continued that fun by styling and spraying our hair pretty rainbows and beautiful patterns throughout the day.
What a great day.

Pyjama week!

This week we have celebrated pyjama week to raise awareness of foster families and children in foster care. This week is about inclusivity and, in the preschool room, we spoke about how families can look different and not all people can stay with their parents.

The pyjama foundation is a great initiative to help those families and children thrive. If you could, have a look into donating to this wonderful cause.

Wombat Stew 🥘

This week the preschool room are learning about Australian animals to extend on our NAIDOC week theme from last week.
Today Miss Chrystal thought it would be a great way to learn about the animals by reading the book ‘Wombat Stew’ and making our very own for afternoon tea.

We used custard and coco powder to make the ‘ooey gooey’ mud, we used dark chocolate for the flies, m&m’s for the bugs, marshmallow for the gum nuts, and crushed pretzels for the emu feathers.

What a fun cooking experience.
