St Joseph's Adelong

Today Year 5/6 students proudly wore their blue socks in support of the Year 6 fundraiser for MND. A big thank you to Kelly from Taronga Zoo for gifting the students a pair of socks each, recognising their amazing efforts during the platypus project. 💙

What a fabulous day we had today for our Year 6 fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease (MND)! The whole school came together and wore blue in support. 💙

Henry, Billy, Ollie and Braxton did an amazing job running the canteen at recess, selling sausage rolls, cookies, cupcakes and fruit boxes. They also sold raffle tickets through out the day, and after lunch we held the main event — The Big Freeze! ❄️

Students and teachers had the chance to throw or kick a football through a hoop, and anyone who scored got to nominate one of the boys to take the plunge into the freezing cold ice bath!

A huge well done to the boys for choosing such a meaningful cause. Thanks to their hard work and everyone’s support, we raised a total of $448.00 💙

Kindergarten students have been working hard to develop their writing skills. Each week, they are introduced to a new picture that inspires their writing for the week. This week’s focus was a picture of a playful dog. Students practised composing simple and complex sentences using their growing knowledge of sounds, sight words and punctuation. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and creativity continue to grow.

Reminder: Year 6 Fundraiser is happening today!

In Religion this term, K/1/2 have been learning about the Creation Story. After listening to the scripture and reading different versions of the story, we recreated the story with props.

What a wonderful morning 5/6 have had along with Adelong Public School presenting our Platypus Expo at the Adelonia Theatre. 💛💙

A big thank you our parents and community for stopping by and supporting the students and having a look at all their amazing work they have produced as a part of the Future Rural Leaders Program.

A huge thank you to Kelly Pfiefer from Taronga Park Zoo, Cherie White and Jade Auldist from Local Land Services for facilitating the program.

We have some very innovative ideas and some wonderful future leaders for the Adelong community! 🕵️🧑‍🌾

Next Tuesday 18th November Braxton, Billy, Ollie and Henry will be fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease with 'The Big Freeze' ❄️❄️ Students are invited to wear something blue and purchase items from the canteen, there will also be a raffle.
