Tournament of Minds

On Saturday, our team of Casey, Jasmine, Hunter D, Ava, Gyana, Jaxon and Alissa competed in the Arts section of the Tournament of Minds competition in Wagga.

Tournament of Minds challenges students to use creativity, problem-solving, time management and teamwork to develop a solution to an open-ended challenge.

Our students worked incredibly hard to create their script, costumes and props before confidently presenting their solution to the judges. They represented our school commendably, and our staff and community are extremely proud of their creativity, teamwork and efforts. 🌟

Future Leaders Helping Protect Our Platypus
We are incredibly proud of Adelong Public School students Jasmine and Gyana, along with former student Evie, for their involvement in the Future Leaders Program.
Adelong Public School and St Joseph's Adelong both participated in the program, with students exploring innovative ways to protect the platypuses living in Adelong Creek and care for their natural habitat.
During the project, groups from both schools came up with the wonderful idea of installing educational bins along the creek walkway. The bins would inform community members that platypuses live in our creek and reminds everyone of the importance of respecting and protecting these unique animals and their environment.
It is fantastic to see the students’ idea brought to life, with a new platypus bin now installed at the Rimmers Bridge picnic area.
Congratulations to Jasmine, Gyana, Evie and the participating students from St Joseph's Adelong. You should all be very proud of the positive difference your ideas have made in our local community!

🎨 Creative Arts in Action! 🎨

Over the past two Mondays, our K–6 students have been working under the wonderful guidance of Mrs Helen Hewson from Adelong Alive Museum creating their very own paper mâché figurines.

There are still a few weeks of creative work ahead, and we can’t wait to see the finished products! 👀✨

Community members — keep an eye out around town towards the end of the year. You might just spot some of our students’ creations making an appearance!

A huge thank you to Mrs Hewson for sharing her time, knowledge and creativity with our students. They are thoroughly enjoying these creative arts sessions.
