A special morning of coffee, conversation and classroom visits with some very important people in our students' lives.
It was a joy to welcome so many dads, grandads and special people in the lives of our students to St Joseph's Kingswood S.A. on Friday morning. Thank you for sharing in the learning, making memories with your children and helping make our school community so special.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandads and father figures who support and celebrate our students each day.

Stories shared, books swapped and plenty more Book Week fun to come!
Students enjoyed coming together with their buddies yesterday to read and share stories, before turning their attention to today's annual Book Swap. Armed with their Book Swap tokens, they carefully browsed the shelves in search of their next great read.
Thank you to our generous families for donating pre-loved books, and to Eva and our wonderful ESO team for bringing this much-loved tradition to life.
We can't wait to see everyone's costumes at tomorrow's Book Week Parade on the Green at 9.10am!

As part of National Science Week, we were privileged to welcome Drew from today.
Our learning began with a Smoking Ceremony, where Drew shared the significance of smoke as a cleansing practice, helping to clear away negative energy and create space for learning and connection.
Students then explored the science behind traditional Kaurna fire management, learning how cool burns conducted in winter can reduce fuel loads before summer, support healthy ecosystems, and even stimulate native seed banks waiting beneath the ground.
What a fantastic way to bring this year's National Science Week theme, Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All, to life through culture, connection, and learning on Country.

This week is , with the theme "Seeds of Science: Nurturing Science for All". Our teachers have some exciting hands-on activities planned, including a whole-school science incursion on Thursday.
As we celebrate all things science, we'd also like to recognise the students who represented St Joseph's Kingswood S.A. in the 2026 . A special congratulations goes to Harrison T, who was named a prize winner in the Crystal Growing category!
Want to see his award-winning crystal for yourself? Pop into the Front Office this week and take a look at this remarkable achievement.

Lulu and Alia helped the City South Girls Team claim the Division 1 title. Felix, Boston and Timothy helped the City South Boys Team finish runners-up in Division 2.
We are incredibly proud of our five soccer stars and the way they represented their school and district.
Special mention to Mr D, coach of the City South Boys Team.

A Prayer
God of all blessings, you revealed in Mary MacKillop a sensitivity to the rights and dignity of every person, regardless of race or creed.
May we learn from her to overcome the obstacles of prejudice and fear. Help us to value the goodness of each person and all the blessings of unity in diversity.
We ask this through the depth and unity of you, our bountiful God, who hold all things in being. Amen

On Wednesday, 47 students from Years 3-6 represented St Joseph's Kingswood S.A. at the SACPSSA Cross Country event. After several weeks of lunchtime training sessions at Kingswood Oval, our runners took on the challenge of competing against students from Catholic schools.
Regardless of experience, confidence or pace, every student demonstrated determination in their own race while showing camaraderie and support for their fellow runners too.
A special shout out to Freddie M and Autumn M, who both crossed the line in an outstanding 6th place in their respective races!
Well done to all our runners for representing our school so positively.

Friday marked the start of our 5 week Dance Program delivered by , an exciting part of our Performing Arts curriculum.
Throughout the program, students will develop movement skills and learn dance routines that will continue to be refined during Music lessons and class time as we prepare for our biennial showcase on Thursday 5 November.
It was wonderful to see the concentration, teamwork and sense of achievement as students mastered new sequences today.
We can't wait to watch their confidence and skills grow over the coming weeks!
