The South Australian Medical Education and Training (SA MET) Unit, supports medical education, training and workforce for the South Australian health system.

The South Australian Medical Education and Training (SA MET) is an unincorporated Health Advisory Council established by, and reporting, to the Minister for Health and Ageing in South Australia. Its role is to improve the quality of education, training and welfare for interns and Trainee Medical Officers within South Australia and make recommendations for the accreditation of junior medical officer positions in health services.

We are delighted to announce the South Australian nominees for the CPMEC Awards.

The South Australian winners of the Prevocational Doctor of the Year and Clinical Educator of the Year categories will be announced at the 2026 Prevocational Medical Education Excellence Awards, where all CPMEC Award nominees will be honoured and invited to attend.

The state winners will then progress to the Trans-Tasman stage, with one winner in each category announced in November 2026.

Provisional offers for the 2027 South Australian Centralised Medical Internship Process will now be issued as vacancies arise and will continue until 16 October 2026.

Remember, you can only receive one provisional offer through the Centralised Process. If you receive an offer, please make your decision based on that offer, as you will not receive another offer for a higher preference later.

Round 3 provisional offers have been sent by email.
Make sure you respond by the date and time outlined in your email.

Provisional offers will now be sent as declines and withdrawals are processed. Ensure you're monitoring your emails closely.

The First National Audit of Acceptances and Unplaced Interns commences on the 31st of July. Provisional offers will be held during the audit and will recommence on the 13th of August.

Category 2 applicants

Haven't received a provisional internship offer yet? Don't stress!

No further provisional offers will be sent today. The next round will be released on Monday as positions become available through declined offers.

If you don't receive a provisional offer on Monday, there's still plenty of movement to come. Provisional offers will continue to be made as vacancies arise.

The National Audit of Acceptances and Unplaced Interns (31 July-13 August) is expected to free up additional positions as applicants holding multiple offers across Australia make their final choice.

We'll keep you updated as the process continues.
