Canbo-OZ relationship.

Cambodia is an important regional partner and Australia has a longstanding interest in its development. In 2022 we will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations.

This week, I spoke with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister ប្រាក់ សុខុន - Prak Sokhonn about our development cooperation and commitment to supporting Cambodia’s recovery from COVID-19 including through the Mekong-Australia Partnership. We also discussed the situation in Myanmar and other regional challenges.

Australia looks forward to supporting Cambodia as it takes on the position of ASEAN chair in 2022. ASEAN is central to our vision for a stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region with ASEAN at its centre.
