Wrapping/swaddling is a common infant care practice used to help babies settle. If you choose to use wrapping/swaddling keep the following things in mind.

The wrap/swaddle must be made of a light weight breathable material such as cotton or muslin. Lightweight and breathable will reduce the risk of overheating.

There needs to be room at the bottom of the wrap/swaddle to allow baby’s legs to move freely into the ‘frog leg’ position, to allow the hip to develop normally.

The wrap/swaddle shouldn’t be too tight across the chest, to allow for chest wall expansion, but should also not be too loose as this is a hazard.

The wrap/swaddle should not sit higher than baby’s shoulders. This will reduce the risk of the material accidentally covering the baby’s head/face.

Baby should not be over dressed under the wrap. This will reduce the risk of overheating.

It is important for safety reasons that once baby looks like they are trying to roll, they must have their arms out/free (that is, not wrapped with arms in).

At Entrée Early Years, we believe every educator deserves to feel supported, valued and recognised for the difference they make. 💛

We were so happy with this feedback from one of our valued educators:

“To me, this is more than just a job—it has been a meaningful journey where I have been able to learn, grow, and experience genuine care from truly wonderful people.”

From the beginning of an educator’s journey with us, our team is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful and supportive experience. Whether we are helping educators find the right opportunity, checking in during placements or celebrating important milestones such as Early Childhood Educators’ Day, the relationships we build matter.

Thank you for sharing such heartfelt words and for being an important part of the Entrée Early Years community. We are proud to support educators who bring care, dedication and passion to early learning services every day.

Chocolate muffins with three cups of vegetables? Yes, please! 🍫🧁

These delicious Chocolate Veggie Muffins from The Balanced Nutritionist are a fun, childcare-friendly option for little foodies. Made with grated carrot, zucchini and baby spinach, they are rich, chocolatey and easy to prepare in a 12-muffin batch.

They can also be adapted for different dietary requirements, making them a flexible option for families and early learning communities:
Use aquafaba or flax eggs instead of eggs
Swap whole wheat flour for gluten-free 1:1 baking flour
Use dairy-free yoghurt instead of Greek yoghurt
Add a small mashed banana for extra natural sweetness

A great recipe for involving children in simple food preparation—measuring ingredients, helping to stir and watching the muffins rise in the oven. Always check individual dietary requirements, allergies and your service’s food policies before preparing or serving.

Ingredients
Dry ingredients
• 1½ cups (225g) whole wheat flour
• ⅓ cup (35g) Dutch-process cocoa powder
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ to ⅔ cup mini chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
Wet ingredients
• 1 cup carrots, grated (tightly packed)
• 1 cup zucchini, grated (tightly packed)
• 1 cup baby spinach (tightly packed)
• ½ cup (120g) plain Greek yoghurt
• ½ cup (170g) honey
• ¼ cup (60ml) avocado oil
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
________________________________________
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C if using fan-forced) and line a 12-tin muffin pan with paper liners or use a silicone muffin pan.
2. Add all dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt) to a large bowl, leaving out the chocolate chips. Whisk to combine and set aside.
3. Add all wet ingredients to a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth, stopping to scrape the sides as needed.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined—do not over-mix. Fold in the mini chocolate chips with a rubber spatula.
5. Divide the batter evenly into the muffin tin. Top with extra chocolate chips if desired.
6. Bake for 18–24 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre muffin comes out clean. Note: Bake time will depend on your oven and the moisture in your zucchini and carrots. Start checking for doneness around 18–20 minutes.

Today, we celebrate the educators who make early learning extraordinary. 💛

On Early Childhood Educators’ Day, Entrée Early Years recognises the care, knowledge, patience and commitment educators bring to children, families and early learning communities every day.

From creating welcoming spaces and nurturing meaningful relationships to encouraging curiosity, confidence and learning through play, educators make a lasting difference during the years that matter so much.

Since 2011 we have been proud to support the early childhood sector—connecting talented educators with opportunities where they can thrive, and helping services build strong, capable teams.

To every educator: thank you for the work you do, the moments you create and the positive impact you have on children’s lives.

“Spring reminds us that growth takes patience and care—just like teaching.” — Unknown

As a new season begins, we are reminded that children grow in their own time and in their own unique ways.

With nurturing relationships, engaging experiences and the space to explore, early learning environments help children build confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Here’s to a season of discovery, growth and fresh beginnings at Entrée Early Years. 🌱

“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.” — Jackie Kennedy

This Book Week, we’re celebrating the stories that open doors to imagination, curiosity and connection. This year’s theme, Symphony of Stories, reminds us that every book adds a new voice, rhythm and possibility to a child’s world.

At Entrée Early Years, we believe shared reading creates meaningful moments for children to listen, explore language, ask questions and let their imaginations lead the way.

Happy Book Week to our little readers, storytellers and future authors. 📚🎶
