growing under natural rainfall. Every tree is labeled and mapped.

The Waite Arboretum occupies 28 hectares and contains about 2,500 specimens representing 800 species in 200 genera, all growing under natural annual rainfall of 624 mm. FREE ARBORETUM TOUR

Sunday 3rd May 11am - 12.30pm

Come this Sunday to the Waite Historic Precinct and meet our knowledgeable guides at the Western lawns of Urrbrae House for a free guided tour of the arboretum. Urrbrae House is located on the Waite campus of the University of Adelaide at Urrbrae.

Tours of the Waite Arboretum are provided by the Friends of the Waite Arboretum Guides on the first Sunday of each month at 11 am. (except in January). The tour takes 90 minutes. Closed shoes, a hat, and a water bottle are recommended.

Guide /visitors ratio: 1/15. If the number of visitors exceeds this ratio, people able to attend the tour will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. For those unable to join the tour group, we encourage them to use the Waite Arboretum App for a self-guided tour.

Free parking is available in the Urrbrae House carpark on Walter Young Avenue, Urrbrae. Other parking sites can be found on Waite Road, Gate 3, or on Claremont Ave between Rentoul Ave and Waite Road.

Note: On days with temperatures above 35Β°, declared Total Ban for Adelaide Metropolitan and/or Mt. Lofty Ranges, heavy rainy or thunderstorms, the tours are CANCELLED.
