It’s Tasty Treat Tuesday today, with students bringing in a range of cookies, slices and other treats for our community to enjoy at recess. It’s a wonderful way for students to build their entrepreneurial skills, while also growing confidence, teamwork and a strong sense of ownership. A big thank you to our wonderful community who continue to bake, organise and support this student-led initiative.

There’s something special brightening the streets around St Mary’s Memorial School! Our students have transformed local stobie poles into colourful works of art inspired by the beach, SA wildlife and the Glenelg community.

Students are incredibly proud to see their designs on display and love knowing they have created something that brings joy to others and leaves a lasting mark on the local community.

This wonderful project was made possible through a grant from City of Holdfast Bay Council, in partnership with SA Power Networks and local artist Sair Bean.

At St Mary’s Memorial School, learning goes beyond the classroom, giving students opportunities to connect, contribute and make a difference in their community.

There was a great sense of community across our beautiful school today, with so much to celebrate.

Our Principal’s Tour was a highlight, with students warmly welcoming visitors and sharing their school with confidence. The Year 3 Worm Works team did an amazing job running their pop-up stall, proudly selling their “worm juice” and chatting with the Glenelg community. It was lovely to see so many families taking part in Walk Safely to School Day, creating a great start to the morning. Our “Shining Stars Wall” brought plenty of smiles, as students shared “I am a star because…” celebrating what makes each of them special.

Days like today capture what St Mary’s is all about - connection and a strong sense of belonging.

Big news for our little school in Glenelg!

St Mary’s Memorial School has been ranked 43rd in South Australia’s Top 100 Private Primary Schools across both Catholic and independent sectors and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Even more exciting, we have also been recognised as:

⭐ Top 40 Primary Schools overall

Earlier this week, a squad of 23 students represented St Mary’s Memorial School at the SAPSASA Cross Country Carnival, with an outstanding 15 students finishing in the top 20 in the district.

A special congratulations to Bohdi and Josh who qualified to represent St Mary’s Memorial School at the State Cross Country later this month. We are incredibly proud of all students for their effort, determination and sportsmanship.

Something exciting is happening in Glenelg!
Our Year 3 students are heading back into the community with another pop-up stall. Using coffee grounds from Dante’s Deli into their very own Worm Works “worm juice”. A fantastic example of sustainability in action 🌱🐛
