Our educators are trained to:

Today in the Toddler room Acknowledging Reconciliation week- 25/05-3/06/26
Toddlers made 'Banana bread with wattle seed'
Self raising flour
Brown sugar
Mashed bananas
Butter and milk
Vanilla essence
Wattle seed
The ingredients were combined, forming a soft and sticky texture. The children all took turns at mixing the ingredients as they watched what would happen when the mixture went form dry to wet.
Wattle seed was placed into the bowl too. Wattle seed is a natural ingredient, and is used for Indigenous cooking.
Michelle explained what each ingredient was throughout the process of mixing, with the children showing a genuine curiosity for play.
Once this was completed, the mixture was placed into a baking tin, which we can then enjoy for afternoon tea.
After we finished making our bread, we then enjoyed creating nature bracelets. Michelle and some friends collected a variety of leaves from the outdoor yard which were placed in a bucket. Coming back to the table, Michelle helped us to create a sticky bracelet for us to wear.
We really enjoyed this experience, once we had sourced all the materials. we went back into the yard to look for more!
We were very proud to show off our new jewellery, using natural base materials helps us to get in touch with nature and enjoy creative art form another perspective.

We’re partnering with Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS) to explore new Parent and Caregiver Information Sessions at selected Goodstart centres - and we’d love your input! 💛
These sessions are designed to support families with helpful information, connections to services and practical advice on topics that matter most to you.
We’re asking families to complete a short survey to help shape:
✨ Topics you’d like covered
✨ The types of sessions you’d find most helpful
✨ What would encourage you to attend
Your feedback will help us create sessions that are relevant, accessible and valuable for our centre community.
Complete the short survey here: https://brnw.ch/21x2Goe
Thank you for helping us create meaningful support opportunities for families in our community.

We prioritise safe sleep practices to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by following expert guidelines, including placing babies on their backs, using firm mattresses, and keeping cots clear. Our Nursery educators are trained in safe sleep training and procedures, we conduct regular checks, and align with Red Nose Australia recommendations to prevent SUDI/SIDS.
Our educators in March 2026 completed an updated SIDS training.
