โœจ To conclude Reconciliation Week, we are proud to share the inspiring work of our Year 8 Visual Arts students.

Throughout the week, students explored Aboriginal art and learned how Aboriginal artists use dot painting techniques and cultural symbols to tell powerful stories. Inspired by these practices, students developed their own dot painting skills while creating unique symbols to represent their hobbies, interests and identities.

To further connect with one of the oldest continuing artistic traditions in the world, students also created handprints, reflecting the ancient practice of hand stencilling found in rock art across Australia.

The final artworks beautifully combine storytelling, symbolism and artistic techniques, celebrating each studentโ€™s unique story and creative voice.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, respect and thoughtful engagement our students demonstrated throughout this learning experience. ๐ŸŽจโœจ

Thank you to Amanda Rishworth MP for visiting our Stars Program today during National Reconciliation Week. โœจ

It was wonderful to come together to share conversations around culture, connection and reconciliation, while celebrating the strength, pride and achievements of our students and community.

We appreciate your ongoing support of our school, and thank you for providing us with a new set of flags.

Do you know another successful graduate of CBHS? As we celebrate Public Education Day, weโ€™d love to recognise the achievements of our alumni who began their journey at Christies Beach High School. โ˜บ๏ธ

This kid from Christies Beach High School had absolutely no idea what his future looked like.

A Member of Parliament? Not even close to being on the radar.

But thatโ€™s the thing about public schools. They have a way of quietly expanding what we think is possible.

For me, it meant becoming the first in my family to walk through the doors of a university. It meant discovering ambitions I didnโ€™t even know I had.

On Public Education Day, Iโ€™m thinking about every kid sitting in a classroom right now who canโ€™t yet see where life might take them.

Our public schools are doing that work. Every single day.

A closer look at the incredible artwork designed by Year 11 student Triston for this yearโ€™s Santos Ltd Aboriginal Power Cup guernsey. ๐Ÿ‰

The design beautifully represents Kaurna Country, connection, journey and community. We are so proud to see Tristonโ€™s meaningful artwork showcased in this yearโ€™s Christies Beach High School guernsey. โœจ

Congratulations to Year 11 student Triston whose artwork was voted as this years Santos Ltd Aboriginal Power Cup guernsey design. ๐Ÿ‰ ๐Ÿ’ซ

Tristonโ€™s artwork, titled Our Mob, Our Country, reflects the Country of the Kaurna people. The boomerangs represent the land and the coastlines, while the different coloured dots represent the many different language groups who occupy the land.
๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

The common trail represents the journey of various mobs who all share the land. The meeting places represent where the people get together to share food.

We are incredibly proud of Triston for sharing such a meaningful and powerful piece of artwork that celebrates culture, connection and community. โœจ ๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

On this day each year, we reflect on the immeasurable harm done by the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families and communities, which we now refer to as the Stolen Generations.

We acknowledge the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities, and recommit to playing our part in the process of healing and reconciliation.

The experience culminated in a special cultural performance at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night ๐ŸŸ๏ธ as part of the AFLโ€™s Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

Our students demonstrated outstanding leadership, pride in culture, teamwork and a strong commitment to the values of SAASTA.

We are incredibly proud of their efforts both on and off the field. ๐Ÿ‰โœจ
