For 35 incredible years, our students, researchers, staff and wider community have shaped the University of South Australia into the remarkable institution it is today.
Together, through world-class research and in launching the careers of thousands of graduates, we’ve achieved, discovered and grown, creating a legacy built on innovation, inclusivity and enterprise.
Thank you all for being part of UniSA’s journey.
Tuesday 31 March represents UniSA’s official last day before being disestablished as part of the Adelaide University Act.
As we turn the page on this extraordinary chapter, the new era of Adelaide University has begun.
Our story isn’t ending, it’s evolving. ✨
We look forward to sharing the next chapters with you, as Adelaide University.

Today we celebrate a truly historic moment as the final ever UniSA graduation ceremony takes place at our Mount Gambier campus🎓
The past three weeks have seen more than 4000 students graduate across 21 ceremonies at Pridham Hall, with two special regional celebrations in Whyalla and Mount Gambier.
These graduates now become part of the new Adelaide University alumni network, which is more than 400,000 strong, and we wish them every success in the future.
It's a special moment and one that may see our graduation mascots, Koala 🐨 and Parchie shed a tear, but one that honours decades of learning, discovery and community, especially as we reflect on the thousands of graduates whose journeys began at UniSA 👏

As UniSA's last ever graduation ceremonies take place this month, we are proud to recognise an extraordinary group of individuals whose contributions have shaped our university, our communities, and the broader world 🎓

Legendary Australian filmmaker and director Dr George Miller AO, who has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his remarkable impact on the global film industry.
Anangu teacher and cultural custodian Angkuna Akitiya Tjitayi Stevens, who has been made a University Fellow. Angkuna's award was accepted by her daughters Katrina and Umatji Tjitayi, the accolade honouring her enduring cultural leadership and commitment to education.
We also acknowledge distinguished members of our own community, bestowing an Honorary Doctorate on Chancellor John Hill, and conferring Emeritus Professorships on Professors Christopher Daniels and Marie Wilson.
Alan Brideson, previously Chief Marketing and Communications Officer and currently Chief of Staff, was made a Fellow of the University.
UniSA Vice Chancellor, Professor David Lloyd received both an Honorary Doctorate and the title of Emeritus Professor.

We’re proud to celebrate the remarkable legacy of UniSA’s longest-serving Vice Chancellor, Professor David Lloyd, as he prepares to conclude his tenure.
Colleagues, partners and leaders came together on Friday to honour Prof Lloyd, whose vision and energy helped shape UniSA as Australia’s University of Enterprise.
Appointed in 2013 as the youngest Vice Chancellor in the country, he led a transformative era of industry-connected education and research, with UniSA recognised as #1 in young university in Australia for industry collaboration.
Prof Lloyd championed major initiatives throughout his leadership including the launch of UniSA Online, UniJam, UniSA Ventures and MOD.., the University’s museum of discovery.
In collaboration with Aboriginal Peoples and Elders, he led the development of UniSA’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and two subsequent Stretch RAPs.
Beyond UniSA, his influence has shaped higher education nationally, including as including as Chair of Universities Australia. Most recently, he co-led the establishment of Adelaide University, becoming its inaugural co-Vice Chancellor and opening the first major new university in Australia in a generation in January 2026.
Our photo gallery captures some highlights from the evening as well as from Prof Lloyd’s time as Vice Chancellor.

The memories being made today will last a lifetime as we celebrate and say congratulations to our incredible international students graduating from UniSA!
It was great to see the value of those late-night study sessions, years of dedicated work and lifetime dreams come to fruition at the graduation ceremonies at Pridham Hall, filled with families and friends who’ve travelled from near and far to provide their support.
Not to forget Koala and Parchie, our grads mascot legends who have appeared in thousands of graduation pics 📸 over the years, always with a smile!
For our graduates who now start the next chapter of their lives, we know the skills, knowledge and lifelong friendships formed at UniSA will take them far - shaping not only their careers, but the world around them. 🎓✨

Today we remember the Hon Bob Hawke AC on what would have been his 96th birthday.
The former Australian Prime Minister, who died in 2019, was an active campaigner for education and interfaith dialogue and was a strong supporter and friend of UniSA, where The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre was established in 1997.
The Centre consolidates the legacy of Hawke’s work, featuring events that emphasise public engagement on issues around society justice, policy making and cultural understanding. It is also the location of the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Library, home to a significant national archive of Hawke’s time in office and his life and contribution to the nation.
