Framing Redirection Positively
Instead of “Don’t run” or “Stop talking,” we use clear, positive language that guides children towards what they can do. This builds calm, respectful learning spaces where every child can succeed.

It was great to see our U9s soccer team out on the field having a go and building their skills each week.
Thank you to the parents who have shared photos with us - we really appreciate you taking the time to capture these moments.
We always enjoy seeing what our students [and their families] are getting up to. If you have any photos you would like us to share with the school community, please feel free to send them through to Katrina at [email protected]

This Reconciliation Week, St Raphael’s School reflects on the power of story, connection and truth-telling. Our Educating for Change events, sharing the inspiring story of Annie Brice, remind us that education can create lasting change and that these stories still resonate deeply within our school and wider community today.
As we continue to learn, listen and walk together, we honour the strength of Boandik history and the importance of relationship, understanding and respect in shaping a more reconciled future. Reconciliation Week 2026 runs from 27 May to 3 June.

📚 National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 📚
We’re excited to be taking part in this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime - a much-loved annual event that brings millions of Australians together through the joy of reading, much like our own Reading Revolution.
On Wednesday 27 May at 12pm (AEST), our students will join children across the country to read Luna Roo: the Kangaroo Baller - a fun and inspiring story about teamwork, courage and chasing your dreams 🦘⚽
Now in its 26th year, this special event celebrates the power of storytelling and the importance of building a love of reading from an early age.
We can’t wait to share this story together and be part of such a meaningful national moment ❤️

Helpful and Unhelpful Choices
When children pause to ask, “Was that a helpful or unhelpful choice?” they learn to take responsibility and try again. This language turns everyday moments into powerful learning opportunities.

Our Year 5 and 6 students recently enjoyed a wonderful buddy session with Kozy Kids Glenside. Together, they made sock puppets and decorated colourful sun catchers, building friendships while learning from one another.
Our Buddy Program with local kindergartens and child care centres is all about connection and confidence. Through regular visits, our students step into leadership roles while our kindy friends grow in excitement about starting school. It’s a joy to see these relationships flourish as we learn and create together. ✨
Thank you to our friends Kozy Kids
