Bits and Bots Learning

Here's a showcase of some of the cool things that the kids have been building and coding this term at Bits and Bots Learning. Some of the activities this term include 3d design using Tinkercad, game development using MakeCode Arcade, building and programming robots and other cool gadgets using Lego Spike, and coding Edison robots.

Another big day of learning at Bits and Bots Learning today. The Junior Bots group were coding the Edison robots, moving them through an obstacle course. The two Pixel Pioneers classes created top-down dungeon crawler games in Makecode Arcade. Lots of fun was had by all.

Today we held the final Holiday Boredom Buster session for the 2026 summer holidays at Bits and Bots Learning. For this Robo Builders lesson activities included coding an Edison robot to navigate a maze and engineering a variety of creations using Lego Prime robot kits.

In our second session for the day, students designed and coded a top-down dungeon crawler using MakeCode Arcade. The kids demonstrated great imagination and skill in developing a wide variety of games. Great work from everyone!

This morning at Bits and Bots Learning we held another Junior Bots class for kids aged 6 to 8. Today we did some 3d design using Tinkercad and printed them on our Bambu Lab and Elegoo printers. We then built colour ticket scanning devices using Lego Spike Essential kits - the kids loved grooving to the music blocks. We finished the lesson using the Edison robots, building remote controlled tracked vehicles.

The Junior Bots group this afternoon used Tinkercad to explore 3d design, printing their creations on Bambu Lab and Elegoo printers. The kids also had lots of fun with the Edison robots, especially the Sumo robot competitions.

Here's some photos from today's morning session at Bits and Bots Learning. Students built robots from the Lego Spike Prime kits and coded the robots to solve missions from the First Lego League Challenge game.

We held the first Junior Bots class at Bits and Bots Learning this afternoon. The kids worked with a variety of technologies, including Tinkercad for 3d design, Edison robots, and Lego Spike Essential kits. They were all especially excited about being able to print their 3d designs on our 3d printers; however they weren't happy about having to wait for an hour for some of the prints☹️

This morning we held the second session of Maker Engineers at Bits and Bots Learning. Tinkercad was used to design puzzles which were then 3d printed. Great learning and lots of fun had by all.

Today Bits and Bots Learning held the first Holiday Boredom Buster course for 2026. We were using Tinkercad to create cool 3d designs then printed them on our 3d printers. Well done to all the kids for their creativity and enthusiasm.

Bits and Bots Learning studio is receiving a fresh lick of paint. It's starting to look pretty slick. Without hesitation I can say that Bits and Bots Painting Services is *not* coming soon.
