More photos from last week when Little Amal visited us.

We were honoured to welcome Little Amal to our school. As a refugee child, she represents all those who have come to Adelaide, Australia, seeking safety. No one chooses to become a refugee.
The message that our students had for Amal was that she doesnโt need to feel lonely, she doesnโt need to feel frightened. She is here with new family who have shared her journey. She is safe. Adelaide is a place that supports people fleeing conflict. She is welcome here with us. We are her brothers and sisters.

Class 22 was honoured to be visited today by Joe Szakacs MP . They listened to his family's story of migration and shared their own hopes for the future.
We heard that you don't need to give up on your own culture and language by becoming Australian. By becoming Australian we add something to our identity as we share ourselves and our culture with others.
School returns tomorrow (Wednesday the 2nd Februray 2022). Your teachers can't wait to see you again. We hope that all students have had restful holidays and are ready to learn. Please remember to wear a mask while on the bus or inside the buildings. If you feel unwell please stay at home.

Students in the furniture design elective have been learning about how CAD (Computer Aided Design) can be used to design and visualise items before they are built. The students have designed coffee tables to be built using wood. The scale models pictured have been 3D printed to allow students to critique their design and modify it before starting construction of the final product.

Pack a good lunch but leave the fresh fruit at home.
๐ปBack to work? ๐ Returning to school? We need your help! We want to reduce the movement of the fruit and veg that fruit fly like as much as we can.
โญIf you live in a fruit fly outbreak or suspension area, pack your lunch responsibly and keep it fruit fly safe.
โ๏ธWhat can you pack? Safe, fresh alternatives include pineapple, melons (watermelon, rockmelon, and honeydew), sugarsnap peas, cucumber, carrots, lettuce, broccoli, celery, mushrooms, and asparagus.
โ๏ธOther options include dried fruit, cooked fruit, processed fruit (such as fruit straps), fruit puree, canned fruit or frozen fruit.
