What an amazing time we’ve had celebrating Book Week at KPPS!

It was wonderful to see so many families joining us for the parade. Having Barbara Kiker Kindergarten participate made the occasion even more special. The creativity and vibrancy of the costumes were truly impressive and set the tone for an exciting week of celebrating books, reading and imagination.

The parade was just the beginning! 📖✨ Students enjoyed an engaging Live Show, stimulating geocaching activities, Zoom sessions with a range of cool authors and illustrators like Andy Lee, and a variety of buddy class activities that brought classes together.

We were delighted to welcome Kidman Park Community Childcare, who joined us for an activity with our Hub Action Team and amazing Year 6 helpers. 💛

And to round out an already fantastic week, we were thrilled to welcome children’s author Tania Ingram for a special visit.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Book Week such a fun, creative and memorable celebration at KPPS! 📚💫

SAPSASA Year 6 Basketball Update

On 19 August, our KPPS Year 6 SAPSASA Basketball Team represented our school at St Clair, taking on a range of strong Year 5/6 teams from across the area.

The boys had worked hard in the lead-up to the event and were excited to take the court and give it their best.

Our first game saw a strong win over Virginia, followed by a nail-biting finish against West Lakes Shore. With just 10 seconds on the clock, Michael (MP) hit the game-winner, with a great assist from Callum ! 🙌🏀

Across our final three games, there were plenty of positives, challenges and opportunities to grow. Most importantly, the boys continued to show KPPS spirit, respect and determination throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Adam Jenkin for working closely with the team across four coaching sessions and managing such smooth rotations across all five games.

A special mention also goes to Corey Maclean from Hustle Squad/36ers for running a valuable closed-door training session with the team in the lead-up to the event.

And of course, thank you to all the parents and community members who gave up their time to support our students. Your encouragement makes these opportunities even more special. 💙

Well done, boys! 👏🏀

🌸 Regional Hiragana Competition! 🌸

What a fantastic day for our 18 Year 5/6 students at the Western Region Hiragana Competition! It was a tough battle, with 18 teams vying for the trophy.

We were so proud to see them preparing solidly beforehand, competing strongly and giving it their very best. 💪 They showed wonderful respect, support and appreciation throughout the day — encouraging one another, celebrating others’ successes and representing our school so positively. 👏😊

It was fantastic to see their confidence, teamwork and enthusiasm shine through. A huge congratulations to all of our students — you should be very proud of yourselves! 🌟 It was wonderful to see our teams place 6th and 8th in the A final, and 2nd and 3rd in the B final

Well done! がんばりました! (Ganbarimash*ta!) ❤️

📺 From our very own KPPS TV studio to the real thing!

We are so excited for our KPPS TV team, who have gone behind the scenes at the 7NEWS Adelaide studios to experience what it’s really like inside a professional newsroom!

After launching their very own student-run TV channel at the beginning of this year, our students have been developing their skills, creativity and confidence while exploring their passion for media and broadcasting. Getting the opportunity to see how a real newsroom operates has been an incredible experience, and one they won’t forget!

A huge thank you to 7NEWS Adelaide for welcoming our students and giving them such a wonderful opportunity to see where their interests and imagination can take them. 🙌

At Kidman Park Primary School, we love creating opportunities for students to discover what they’re passionate about, try something new and develop skills that extend well beyond the classroom. Whether it’s media, performing arts, sport, STEM, creativity or something entirely their own, we believe that when students are given the opportunity to explore their passions, amazing things can happen. 💙

We couldn’t be prouder of our KPPS TV team and can’t wait to see where they take their channel next! 🎥🎤⭐

💙 WELLBEING & ENGAGEMENT SURVEY 2026

We’re incredibly proud to share the results of this year’s Wellbeing and Engagement Collection Survey, completed by our Year 4–6 students.

The survey gives our students an opportunity to tell us how they’re going, whether they feel happy, safe, connected and ready to learn.

This year, 192 students had their say, our highest participation yet! 🎉

And we’re delighted to see that Kidman Park Primary School sits above the South Australian average in every area measured.

✨ 88% have an important adult at school (SA: 70%)
✨ 71% feel a strong sense of belonging (SA: 45%)
✨ 63% say our school is a caring and respectful place (SA: 37%)
✨ 16 of 22 areas improved from last year

These results reflect something we see every day, our students feel they belong because of the people around them: our staff, our families and our whole school community. 💙

Thank you for being part of a community where our students can feel safe, supported and connected, and have the confidence to Aspire + Soar. 🦅

💚💛 What a sensational day of school spirit! 💛💚

Today our school community came together in a sea of green and gold to celebrate the 2026 Soccer World Cup, and what an incredible atmosphere it created!

From proudly singing our national anthem together to cheering on the match, it was wonderful to see our students embracing the excitement, showing such pride, and sharing in the joy of this special occasion. The buzz around the yard all day was simply contagious, with smiles, laughter and plenty of team spirit wherever you looked.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing canteen team, who truly took the celebrations to another level! 💚💛 Your delicious themed lunch specials and incredible green and gold baked treats were an absolute hit. Your creativity, hard work and generosity helped make today extra memorable for our students and staff, and we are so grateful for everything you do.

Thank you to our staff, students, families and volunteers for embracing the fun and making today such a fantastic celebration of our soccer heroes. Days like today remind us just how special our school community is when we come together.

💚💛 What a team. What a day. What a community! ⚽🇦🇺
