At Faith Montessori Centre, we believe the key to providing the best care for little ones is building strong partnerships with our families. We absolutely love having parent feedback as it provides us with with unique insights of our individual families which in turn helps us with providing a more holistic approach to early learning.

Our outdoor area received plenty of TLC (tender loving care) throughout the holidays and we have welcomed our 2025 children with a new and improved yard that includes lots of spaces for children to explore.

This morning, Paramedic Patrick visited us with his ambulance! As part of our "Learning About Community Workers" week, the children had a blast exploring the ambulance and learning about Patrick's job.

🌟 Some highlights included- using a heart rate monitor, trying out the hydraulic lift and breathing with the oxygen mask. We also got to explore the inside of the ambulance and hearing the loud siren.

Up close and personal with some awesome native Australian animals !

The children were very happy to meet, touch and learn about some native Australian animals today. Thank you to Belinda, from South Australian Nature Education Centre, for bringing us possums, snake, blue tongue lizards, a giant millepede (🥹!)and stick insects to delight the children

Congratulations Camryn for completing your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care! Faith Montessori Centre is privileged to be a part of your learning journey in becoming an educator.

Today, we are celebrating Camryn's completion with big smiles and one of her work placement supervisors, Lai, by her side!

After graduating from high school, Camryn pursued her passion for empowering children by enrolling in a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care. She also embarked on a traineeship with Faith Montessori Centre, which allowed her to apply her theoretical knowledge to practical experience and gain confidence while working alongside experienced staff.

Just like Camryn, if you're seeking a way to transition from school to the workforce, starting a Certificate III course could be the perfect first step towards achieving your dream career.

Last Tuesday, the children had a wild time when Louise McKay from Australian Bush Buddies came with her amazing animals. She brought with her many furry and scaly friends .. Boo the masked owl, Ripper the baby salt water crocodile, Tiger the bobtail lizard, Arigail the Diamond Snake and a pair of Squirrel Gliders. It was a wonderfully interactive and educational experience for the children.

Our inquiry at Faith Montessori Centre has led us to discover the many places our families originate from. We love our having different cultures and the uniqueness each one brings to our classroom.

We are privileged to have a family volunteer to share about the Ukrainian culture through song and egg decorating during this time of the year.

What a great way for the children to explore about cultures within the community they are in!

Our main focus of this term is to discover who we are and explore the different cultures within our community. We have loved having families volunteer to come in and share about their culture with the children and we want to say a big thank you for doing so!

From learning about the Italian flag colours and making pasta necklaces to exploring the German culture through making pretzels, the children have absolutely enjoyed these hands on learning experiences.

At Faith Montessori Centre, we absolutely love celebrating diversity and unity. We believe that every one is unique just as they are and that itself is worth celebrating! Part of our project for Harmony Day included our little ones engaging in helping paint and design our "Living in Harmony" bench. Have you spotted this new and improved bench in our yard yet?

" On this day 20 years ago, Judy Bland started work at the Montessori Children’s Centre in Port Adelaide.

Shortly after that, the centre moved to its current location in Cooke Crescent, Royal Park and is now known as Faith Montessori Centre.

During those 20 years, Judy has blessed and enriched the lives of countless children in Adelaide’s west and beyond - mainly 2-3 year olds who are often entering an education / childcare setting for the first time.

She also has reassured and advised hundreds of parents and carers wanting the very best for their kids and nervous about spending time away from them.

Jude has had multiple siblings pass through her class as the years have gone by. She is often stopped by families when she’s at West Lakes Mall whose kids remember being in Judy’s class, sometimes from many years earlier.

Judy’s job has been a true expression of God’s favour to us and to many others during that time, especially as my wage has varied during my time in Christian ministry.

Thank you to all of those who have owned and managed the centre so well during Judy’s time there – Denise, Kera and now Joyce and Lai.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, the children got to experience making fried rice and dumplings today. Our team also experienced the tradition of having "Yee Sang", a salad dish usually eaten during the Lunar New Year where the different ingredients are tossed as a symbol of abundance and prosperity. There is a different chinese zodiac animal that is represented each year and 2023 marks the year of the Rabbit. We love celebrating different cultures at Faith Montessori Centre.

What a special way to end the week and we look forward to starting the new term with you all next week!
