Second stakes victory for the Bootlegger as the son of Darley's Too Darn Hot wins the Listed Leon Macdonald Stakes at Morphettville Racecourse.

A homebred for Robert Hill-Smith, the 4yo was never headed as he led throughout to score for trainers Dan Clarken and Oopy Macgillivray.

“That was a huge thrill,” Clarken said. “We got a real kick out of that. Oopy is home, I reckon she would have rode the lounge pretty hard then."

In the week that Cornerstone Stud's current stock goes up for public auction, one of their graduates Sir Now (Sir Prancealot) secures his first stakes victory, winning the G3 Behemoth Stakes at Morphettville Racecourse.

Highlighting his ability two starts back with a narrow third in the G3 MRC Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield, Sir Prancealot (IRE) gelding Sir Now secured his first stakes victory on Saturday, leading all the way in the $150,000 G3 SAJC Behemoth Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.

A complete dispersal of bloodstock owned by South Australian based breeding operation Cornerstone Stud will be conducted through the Inglis Digital August (Early) Sale, which runs from August 7 to 12.

Cornerstone Stud general manager Sam Pritchard-Gordon said the dispersal would mark the conclusion of an important chapter for the operation.

“The decision to conclude the breeding operation has not been taken lightly,” Pritchard-Gordon said. “However, by conducting a complete dispersal through Inglis Digital, buyers will have a genuine opportunity to access the quality bloodstock that Cornerstone Stud has assembled over the past three years.”

A complete dispersal of bloodstock owned by South Australian based breeding operation Cornerstone Stud will be conducted through the Inglis Digital August (Early) Sale, which runs from August 7 to 12.
