Last week, our Year 3 students celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time, marking an important milestone in their faith journey. They were joined by students from Years 4 to 11 who also received the sacrament.
We congratulate all of these students on this special step and thank Fr James McEvoy, Fr Matthew Newman, and our Primary Choir for helping make the celebration so meaningful.
May they continue to be guided by love, choosing each day to be "good today and better tomorrow." 💜

Years 10 and 11 students from SAC, Mercedes and St Francis de Sales Colleges gathered at Mercedes for the second session of the Australasian Mercy Secondary Schools Association Student Conference. They joined together online with 30 schools across Australia and New Zealand to share their passion for social justice and inspire one another with ways to live a life of mercy today. Catherine Edwards gave an empowering keynote, reminding all delegates that they can be the change they want to see in the world by stepping up and taking action for justice and equality.

We are so grateful for Sean, Technical Director at Adelaide Jaguars Women’s Soccer Club, for supporting our Primary Soccer program. Our Year 3 and Year 4 Soccer Teams as well as our Year 5/6 KO Soccer Team loved their training session last week. We are thrilled to have connections to clubs within the community, especially ones that support getting more girls involved in sport!

National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual event held across Australia where children in schools, libraries, and community groups all read the same picture book at the same time. This event promotes the importance of reading, literacy, and sharing stories together in a fun and engaging way. Every year, our 1EG class brings each book to life! This year's dramatisation of Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller was enthusiastically enacted by Ms Griffith's class of performers. Our primary classes loved sharing the story and joining in the fun of the soccer game right up until the nail-biting finish! A big thank you to our talented and courageous actors!

Today marks the beginning of National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and reflect on how we can each contribute to reconciliation. The 2026 theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation requires all of us to listen, learn and take action together.
At SAC, we began the week with our Nunga Night, welcoming First Nations families and community members for an evening of yarns, shared meals, and connection. A group of students also had the opportunity to attend the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast this morning, the largest reconciliation event in Australia.
We look forward to the upcoming activities, while continuing the conversation and learning together throughout this significant week and beyond.

Inspired by their learning about Laudato Si’ and caring for our “Common Home,” Year 5 students Poppy, Ava and Yasmin wrote to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese about the issue of fast fashion and their ideas for change.
Over the holidays, they received a special reply from the Prime Minister, thanking them for sharing their ideas and encouraging them to keep making a positive difference. We are so proud of their compassion, initiative and commitment to creating change for the good of all.

A huge thank you to the many employers across Adelaide who welcomed our Year 10 students for Work Experience this week. 💜
From classrooms to clinics, offices, studios and beyond, our students had the opportunity to step into the world of work, explore future pathways and gain valuable real-world insight.
We’re incredibly proud of the way our students represented the College and grateful to our industry and business partners for supporting these meaningful experiences.
