Our Student Ambassadors and Torrens Student Leaders were hard at work creating some wonderful messages of welcome and congratulations to recognise new Australian Citizens! Australian Citizenship Day is celebrated on 17th September and it provides an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate and reflect on Australia’s proud migration history, which has shaped Australia into the prosperous and vibrant multicultural country it is today. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning and important of Australian Citizenship, and the responsibilities and proclaimed associated with it.

We will be sending off some of these letters of welcome to our local government that will hopefully be passed on to these families as gifts at their citizenship ceremony.

Stay tuned! Well done Ambassadors and Student Leaders.

❤️Help us raise awareness for World Duchenne Awareness Day on Monday 7th September (week 8 ) ❤️

🎈🎈We invite everyone to wear red on Monday of Week 8 (7th September) and bring along a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to 79 Exons Incorporated Foundation.🎈🎈

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a condition that causes a person’s muscles to become weaker over time. People with DMD use 30% more energy for everyday things like walking, running, climbing stairs or lifting their arms. DMD doesn’t stop someone from learning, having fun, making friends or being part of activities. Sometimes, they may just need to do things differently or have some extra support. We would love the whole school community to get behind this day and help us raise awareness!

📚🐾 BOOK WEEK FUN WITH OUR LITTLE FLYERS! ✈️💜

Our Little Flyers have been getting into the Book Week spirit, with our staff transforming into Splat the Cat for a very special Little Flyers Book Week Parade!

There’s plenty of fun planned, with our Little Flyers enjoying stories, creative activities, dress-ups and lots of opportunities to learn, play and connect together.

Our Little Flyers Transition Program is all about making the move to school exciting, familiar and positive. Each experience gives our future Reception students another opportunity to build confidence, develop friendships, become familiar with our staff and learning spaces, and feel like they are already part of the Lockleys North community.

We love seeing our Little Flyers becoming more confident and comfortable with every visit. Before we know it, they’ll be ready for take-off! ✈️

Aim High, Little Flyers!
