SPANISH RADIO FUNDRAISER (In Spanish and English).
50 años dando voz a nuestra comunidad… y hoy necesitamos tu ayuda.
_______
For 50 years, Radio Española 5EBI has been more than a radio programme — it has been a lifeline for Spanish speakers in South Australia. It has offered companionship to people far from home, practical information to newcomers, and a cultural bridge for younger generations. Today, that voice is at risk.
Rising station fees have created a serious financial challenge, and we now need to raise $1,000 to keep the programme going. As a not-for-profit, volunteer-run association, every broadcast is powered by people who give their time, energy, and care because they believe this service matters. There are no salaries and no profit — only a shared commitment to preserving a valued community voice.
Your donation will help sustain a programme that has supported the Spanish-speaking community in Adelaide for decades through music, interviews, community news, cultural programming, and connection. It also helps ensure that this legacy can continue for the next generation.
If this programme has ever made you feel at home, informed, entertained, or connected, please give today. Thank you for helping to protect this important part of our community’s story.

Part of our last Family Games Day held on Saturday, 18th April, 2026 was to remember and tribute our Life Member Ana Marque. Ana sadly passed away recently. She will be sadly missed. We held a dedication to her, which was attended by her family. It was very moving. Ana's daughter, Ana donated a book of songs 🎵, that were sung by the Spanish Choir back in the day. They actually sang at my children's kindergarten and Holy Family Catholic School at a fete. There was a song, dedicated to Ana in the book. 4 of the original choir members, sang the song. Mari Galan, Ana Herrero, Juliana Moran and Elena Carmena. Very moving. I forgot to mention the choir master, Jose Garcia.

Celebrated 14.4.31 as per her documents For 4 weeks in and out of hospital finally got to respite /palliatve care for a few days West Beach Nursing home Burbridge Road a beautiful serene place. We were blessed to have her in our lives for so long 95! Like your mum. We are having private family funeral with Rufi Carisimos family who is our adopted Australian family. She will now join her family and friends in heaven. She did see bright lights and someone calling out to her nina towards the end..Only a few left now of the oldies. ♥️🌹🙏"
There is private funeral. I have said to Ana (daughter), that we would do something on the next Family Games Day and we can give her the flowers 💐
