I’m not part of Cali Conversations. Because too often, it’s a space where people tear each other down. This week has been no exception.

Yesterday, ACTC was mentioned — and while I’m humbled by the kind words shared about us, I also can’t help but feel… exhausted. Because if people only knew the battles we face daily just to keep our vision alive. If they knew the toll it takes to try and do something bold, something unifying, something different — for no reason other than to grow the sport we all claim to love. The anonymous person was right though... ACTC is run out of love and passion and lots of amazing women working tirelessly to unite and build and share this crazy and wonderful sport.

We’re not perfect. I am far from it and make a lot of mistakes (this post probably being one of them). But we show up every day with a belief that calisthenics deserves more. The people in it deserve more. And we are pouring our hearts into a show that we hoped would bring the entire country together — a celebration before Carnivale, and something we could all be proud of as a calisthenics community.

And yet… we can’t even get support for that.

I’m not writing this for sympathy or to start my own battle in the comments. I’m writing it because I’m sad being surrounded by so much toxicity. I’m tired of the silence that follows anonymous cruelty. I’m tired of seeing passionate, dedicated people pushed to the edge because we forgot how to be kind.

Behind every decision is a human being. Behind every project is someone carrying the mental and emotional load of a sport that takes so much, and gives very little back. And behind every public attack is someone quietly breaking.

We can — and must — do better.

Let’s stop assuming. Let’s stop hiding. Let’s start helping.

Because if we keep going like this, there won’t be a sport left to fight over.

And if that doesn’t scare us into change, I don’t know what will.

What are we teaching the next generation?

Are we showing them what true strength looks like? That lifting each other up is more powerful than tearing each other down? That there is room for every woman to shine?

For too long, competition and comparison have been ingrained in us. But imagine a world where we celebrate each other’s successes instead of feeling threatened by them. Where we amplify voices instead of silencing them. Where we lead with kindness, courage, and authenticity.

💡 It starts with us.

Every time we choose to support another woman, we’re setting an example for the young girls watching. We’re teaching them that confidence and compassion go hand in hand. That their worth is not measured by someone else’s failure. That real leadership is not about stepping on others to get ahead—it’s about walking forward together.

It’s time to change the culture. To make empowerment, respect, and genuine support the norm. To build a future where the next generation of women knows their value and never doubts their place in the world.
