National Reconciliation Week 🌿

Our children have been exploring the meaning of connection, respect, and belonging through creativity and self-expression. As part of Reconciliation Week they created these beautiful artworks inspired by the work of Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey. Otis’ work Gaagal (ocean) draws from the rippling and healing of waterways, representing coming together for reconciliation.

The children shared their ideas and celebrated the importance of coming together, learning from one another, and recognising the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are proud of the creativity, curiosity, and thoughtfulness our children have shown in creating these meaningful displays.

🐝Celebrating World Bee Day! 🐝

Our Kindy children explored the amazing world of bees by engaging in a hands-on creative experience sculpting their own bee figurines using clay and natural materials from our outdoor environment. They discussed topics of different types of bees, how honey is made, pollination, and why bees have stingers.

Our toddler children enjoyed a sensory tray experience with oats, butterflies, bees, flowers, and colourful patty pans. Educators represented and showed the children how bees help pollinate flowers. 🌸🍯

The children developed an understanding of the important role bees play in our environment, including pollination and honey production. They explored different types of bees, their features and purpose, while building their knowledge through hands-on and sensory experiences. 🍯

This mornings learning in our Pre Kindy room was completely child-led, with the children taking charge of creating their own sensory experience based on their interests. 🌿🐞

When educators asked what they would like to focus on the children shared ideas about bugs and making food. Together, they designed a sensory tough tray filled with oats, bug figurines, cups, scoops, and utensils, creating their very own imaginative play space. 🥣✨

The children engaged in rich conversations about insects, textures, cooking, and imaginative storytelling.

It was wonderful to see their confidence and curiosity shine as they led their own learning experience from start to finish! 💛

This fortnight at Parafield Airport ELC, our families took part in a fun game of “Guess Who?”👶✨
Parents were challenged to guess which childhood photos belonged to our educators - and there were definitely some tricky ones!

How did you go with your guesses? 👀

Building strong connections with our families is something so special to us. Moments like these create laughter, conversations, and a beautiful sense of community that makes our centre feel like home 🩷

Thank you to all our families for joining in and sharing these special moments with us! ✈️

Today at Parafield Airport Early Learning Centre, our kindy and nursery children came together to create a wreath to honour Anzac Day.

Through colouring poppies and creating a beautiful wreath, the children explored remembrance, kindness, and gratitude.

We are so proud of the thoughtful ways our little learners engaged with this important day, showing respect and care as they learned about remembering the brave people who keep us safe.

Today we took a trip around the world without leaving the classroom!

Our little learners have been discovering different countries, pointing out places on the map, and learning where to find Australia.

Exploring geography helps build curiosity, language, and a sense of connection to others around the globe. ✨
