Dear Families,
Meet our team from Toddlers 2 room.

🌱 The Role of Educators in the Toddlers Room 🌱

At Goodstart Aberfoyle park In our Toddlers Room, educators play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel secure, valued, and supported to learn and grow.

Our educators build strong, trusting relationships with each child, helping them develop confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Through play-based learning experiences, educators encourage curiosity, creativity, communication, and problem-solving while supporting children's social and emotional development.

Educators carefully observe children's interests and strengths to plan meaningful experiences that extend learning and promote development across all areas. They guide children in building friendships, learning to share, express emotions, and develop important life skills.

Most importantly, our educators act as responsive and caring role models, fostering a love of learning and ensuring every child has opportunities to thrive, explore, and reach their full potential.

💛 Together, we create a learning environment where every child feels respected, empowered, and inspired to discover the world around them.

At Goodstart, reconciliation is central to our vision of providing all Australia’s children with the best start in life.

We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the original storytellers, teachers, and guides of this nation. We take pride in sharing Australia’s rich past and creating a strong sense of belonging for First Nations children, employees and families, who are part of our Goodstart community.

“I’m all in” for reconciliation by continuing to learn, listen and reflect on how I can create a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all children and families. As educators, we have an important role in teaching children about respect, belonging and the rich histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At our centre, reconciliation means embedding Indigenous perspectives into our everyday practices, building genuine relationships with First Nations families and communities, and creating opportunities for children to learn through stories, art, music, language and connection to Country.

I believe reconciliation starts with meaningful conversations, respect for culture, and walking together towards a future where every child feels seen, valued and proud of who they are. Together, we can help children grow with understanding, kindness and respect for Australia’s First Peoples.

✨ How you can get involved:
❤️ Come and make some hearts with us! You can find heart cut-outs at reception.
❤️ On the heart, answer the question: *“How can we be ALL IN for reconciliation?”*
❤️ We will take some photos and share them on social media don’t forget to spread the message of reconciliation and belonging within our community.

At Goodstart Aberfoyle Park, we proudly celebrate two Graduation Days each year for our Kindergarten children one for our mid-year school intake children and another at the end of the year for those beginning school in Term 1.
We are excited to be hosting our Mid-Year Graduation Day on the 9th of July 2026 for the children who are preparing to begin their next big journey at school. While it is a proud moment for our educators and families, it is also emotional saying goodbye to the children we have built such strong attachments with and watched grow with confidence, independence, and kindness.
Seeing our children dressed in their graduation gowns and hats, walking with confidence and excitement, fills us with so much pride. It is a beautiful and memorable moment for families and educators alike as we celebrate all they have achieved during their time with us.
We wish all our graduating children the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter. You will always be a special part of the Goodstart Aberfoyle Park family 💛🎓

🌾🪴🪴 Gardening 🫛🌾🌿. Today As part of our learning, our children from. Toddlers and Nursery room discovered that we were planting broad beans and learned that these plants will grow very tall over time. Together, we discussed the colours of the plants, how they felt, and what they were called, helping to broaden the children’s understanding of the natural world around them.
🌿 Linking to EYLF Outcome 2.1.6 – Children broaden their understanding of the world in which they live.
The children also learned about the importance of caring for plants by watering them every day and making sure we are gentle around both the new and existing plants in our garden bed.
To further extend this learning experience, we will continue encouraging the children to plant seedlings, observe their growth over time, and take responsibility for watering and caring for their own plants.

Throughout this hands-on experience, it was amazing to see the children actively involved as they explored, communicated, and shared their ideas about what they could see and feel. The children listened carefully to the educators’ instructions and eagerly took turns using the shovel to scoop dirt and fill the holes for our new plants.

🌼 Reflection of Learning 🌼
Today it was wonderful to see all the children working together to enhance our garden bed with a variety of different plants. Watching the children become engaged in learning about how plants grow and how we care for them was truly special.
The children expressed how excited they are to watch the new plants grow over the coming weeks, and we can’t wait to continue this learning journey together!
Great work Nursery 2 and Toddler 1 children! 🩷🪴
We hope you all have a lovely rest of your day, families, and the children can’t wait to tell you all about their exciting day! 🌱✨
