Dear Families,

This Wednesday, 2nd September, we will be celebrating Educators’ Day and recognising the incredible educators who make a difference in the lives of our children every single day. 💙

We would love to invite all our families to be part of the celebration! 🥰 Please take a moment to write a special message, kind words or a note of appreciation for our educators on the paper provided at reception and add it to our Educator Appreciation Wall. 💌✨

Your thoughtful words will help make our educators feel extra special and remind them just how valued and appreciated they are by our children and families. ❤️

Let’s come together and fill our Appreciation Wall with kindness, gratitude and love! 🌈

Thank you for helping us celebrate our amazing educators! 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫💐

Celebrating international Red Nose Day with a bit of silly faces!

Today is National Red Nose Day!

As a centre we proudly recognize the important work of the Red Nose Foundation and their commitment to helping keep babies and children safe.

As Early Childhood Educators, safe sleep practices are an essential part of our everyday routine and pledge to children’s safety. We follow evidence-based safe sleep recommendations, create safe and comfortable sleep environments, and ensure every child is closely monitored and cared for during rest times.

We use the resources and guidance provided by the Red Nose Foundation to support/ educate our educators, strengthen our safe sleep practices and help educate families about the importance of safe sleeping.

Today we wear our Red Nose foundation logo or some silly faces with Red Noses with pride to show our support and help raise awareness for safer sleep and the prevention of sudden unexpected death in infancy.

❤️👃 Red Nose Day:

keeping little ones safe, one sleep at a time ❤️👃

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

Community connection is so important!

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a community meeting at the Noarlunga Centre. It was such a valuable experience to sit, listen and learn from the people in our local community.

Hearing people share their stories, experiences and the incredible work they are doing across the area was truly inspiring. I was especially impressed by the passion, commitment and collaboration happening to support children, families and the wider community.

Attending meetings like this gives me the opportunity to build stronger connections, learn about the services and support available in our community, and explore ways we can work together to make a positive difference. Most importantly, listening to people’s stories helps us better understand the needs of our community and how we can continue to support one another.

I walked away feeling inspired, informed and proud to be part of a community where so many people are working together to create positive outcomes for others. Thank you to everyone who shared their knowledge and experiences! 💙

🦷✨ **A Visit from the Dentist at Goodstart Aberfoyle Park!** ✨🦷

We had a very special visit from the dentist at **Goodstart Aberfoyle Park**, giving our children the opportunity to learn more about looking after their teeth and supporting their oral health. 🪥😁

The children were able to experience a dental check-up in a familiar and comfortable environment, helping build confidence and positive attitudes towards visiting the dentist. 💕

We also extended the experience into our rooms, where our educators used our **centre resources** to recreate a dental experience through play. The children explored the different tools and materials, talked about caring for their teeth and engaged in meaningful conversations and imaginative play. 👩‍⚕️🦷👨‍⚕️

These hands-on experiences help children learn through play while making everyday experiences familiar, fun and engaging. 🌟

A big thank you to our educators for creating such a wonderful learning opportunity and supporting our children to develop healthy habits from an early age!
