Today is a very exciting day for Independent Providers such as ours, as we publicly launched Proudly Independent, Proudly Local via media release!

A new campaign celebrating Australia's 3,000 independently owned early learning centres is shining a spotlight on the 79% of providers that operate just a single service.

Launched today, Proudly Independent, Proudly Local, has been developed by the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA), the national peak body representing independent providers, to celebrate the vital role these family-owned, community-focused small businesses play in supporting children, families and local communities.

Today, the ACA launched Proudly Independent, Proudly Local—a national campaign recognising the contribution of Australia’s 3,000 independently owned early learning centres.

With 79% of providers operating just one service, many independent early learning centres are small businesses deeply connected to the children, families and communities they support.

This year we extended on our learning about how to care for our teeth by inviting Mehrsa to join us. Mehrsa is a valued member of our small Early Years Education community and holds a DDS degree from Iran and a PhD in Dentistry from the University of Adelaide, and is currently working as a researcher in population oral and general health.
Mehrsa shared her knowledge with the children, describing the importance of eating healthy everyday foods and drinking lots of water to keep our teeth strong and healthy. The children learned a new toothbrushing song (lt us know if you would like the link), what types of food and drink were healthy everyday foods and what were sometimes food and drink, and then had the opportunity to practice their toothbrushing skills on a bear, tiger and giraffe!
It was such a fun learning experience, thanks for sharing with us Mehrsa!

On June 10th we joined the nation, engaging in Thank a First Responder Day! Our children created a collaborative piece of art demonstrating our knowledge of what it meant to be a first responder and we sent it to the National Body to shar3e our thanks for the important work they do every day. Through our discussions we also identified that some of our Families are First Responders - fire fighters, paramedics, doctors and nurses!

We were very grateful for the visit from our very own Paramedic Pepi who brought her car and equipment in for us to explore and investigate. Pepi shared with the children what it meant to be a paramedic, how she helped people, what equipment she used and even gave us a demonstration of how to administer asthma medication and bandage an injured arm. The children really enjoyed this incursion and further developing their knowledge of the world they live in.

🎉 Exciting News for Marino Early Learners 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that Marino Early Learners has been selected as a Flying Start Preschool partner, delivering the South Australian Government's Flying Start Preschool Program from Term 1, 2027.

This recognition reflects something we have always believed in – that children deserve access to exceptional early childhood education during their most important years of development.

What makes this achievement particularly special is that Marino Early Learners is the only small, family-owned childcare centre selected to deliver the program across Marino, Seacliff, Seacliff Park, Kingston Park, Brighton and surrounding suburbs through to Glenelg.

For many years, we have invested heavily in educational quality, employing three registered Early Childhood Teachers on-site — significantly exceeding the minimum requirement of one teacher. This allows us to provide rich learning experiences that support children's confidence, wellbeing, school readiness and lifelong love of learning.

Being selected as a Flying Start Preschool partner recognises the quality of the educational program our team delivers every day and provides additional opportunities, resources and professional learning that will further strengthen our preschool program.

Most importantly, it means children at Marino Early Learners will continue to benefit from:
