Here I am again…

My much too often drive to Sacred Heart Hospital. I had my port removed the last week of December, which went fabulous!

Now, the last few weeks, the area where my port was is kind of spicy. So, I’ve been attempting to discern if it’s spicy because there was a little metal being living under my skin for the last 2 years, or …. Something else?

I started to notice that this rough spot on my skin wasn’t a scab or a scar, but what looked like fishing line. I made a few phone calls yesterday, and as much as I think this current medical system is comical, outdated, expensive, complicated, antiquated, dysfunctional, and pretty much broken, the staff here at Sacred Heart are keepers!

Sure thing! Dr. Kim who was the surgeon (from Wausau, Wisconsin), confirmed that a little suture “found it’s way to the surface!” He cut and plucked, super glued it all back together, and Voilà!

I think we have it this time! Kind of feels like the day I knew Woody had exited my body, remember that saga? I sure do!
