Today the children enjoyed a hands-on creative experience using coloured glue ๐ŸŒˆ and a variety of different sized and shaped pop sticks to design and build their own unique creations โœจ๐Ÿ—๏ธ. Through open-ended exploration, the children used their imagination to experiment with arranging, balancing and connecting materials to form different shapes, patterns and structures.
As the children worked carefully with the glue and small materials, they were developing important fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration ๐Ÿคฒ๐ŸŽจ.

The experience also encouraged patience and persistence as children took their time planning ideas, waiting for pieces to stick, and problem-solving when structures needed adjusting. It was wonderful to see the children sharing ideas, encouraging one another and taking pride in their individual creations ๐Ÿ˜Š

This experience links to EYLF V2 Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners, as children explored creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and persistence through meaningful hands-on learning experiences.

๐ŸŒŽโœจ ITโ€™S A SMALL WORLD โœจ๐ŸŒŽ

This month we started a cooking experience series called โ€œItโ€™s a Small Worldโ€ ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ’›
Through food, we will explore flavors and traditions from different countries around the world! ๐ŸŒโœˆ๏ธ

Our first stop was Mexico ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ with delicious Tacos ๐ŸŒฎ
Tacos originated in Mexico and are loved all around the world for their fresh and tasty combination of ingredients ๐Ÿ˜‹

The children had so much fun creating their own tacos by choosing ingredients inspired by the original recipe, including ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and guacamole ๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿง€๐Ÿฅ‘

During this hands-on experience, the children practiced and developed many important skills such as:
โœจ Independence and decision-making
โœจ Fine motor skills
โœจ Confidence and creativity
โœจ Exploring different cultures and flavors
โœจ Communication and social interaction
โœจ Healthy eating habits

Seeing their excitement, curiosity, and proud little smiles was absolutely the best part of the day ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒฎ

Naa Marni!

The children enjoyed taking charge of their learning environment today as they helped make fresh play dough for the Over 2s.

Measuring, pouring, mixing and choosing colours encouraged teamwork, problem-solving and creativity while giving the children a sense of ownership and pride within their space. ๐Ÿค

Experiences like this support children to become confident, capable learners as they actively contribute to their environment and daily routines. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿง

Today we went on a bug hunt! ๐Ÿ› ๐Ÿœ ๐Ÿž

Our local park excursion was filled with adventure, discovery and connection as the children set off on a bug hunt through the community! Following clues and prompts along the way, the children worked together to search for hidden bugs, using their observation, problem-solving and teamwork skills to complete the challenge. Once every bug had been found, the children celebrated their success with time to explore and play at the playground.

A special part of the excursion was including 4 of our Under 2s, with 3 of them sharing the experience alongside their siblingsโ€”supporting family connections and fostering a sense of belonging across age groups. Exploring our local community in this way helps children build confidence in their environment and strengthen their connection to the world around them.

This experience links to EYLF V2 Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.

Our refreshed playground environment invites children into new adventures, sparking curiosity, imagination and exploration through play. By changing the outdoor space, we create exciting opportunities for children to discover new challenges, test their ideas, build confidence and develop resilience as they navigate different materials and experiences. A dynamic playground encourages creativity, problem-solving, social connection and active play, supporting children to become confident, capable and engaged learners through hands-on exploration.

We are creating learning environments that support children to regulate, to be curious and to engage deeply. ๐Ÿช๐Ÿชด

The mud kitchen encourages teamwork and communication, as children share ideas, take turns and work together in their outdoor space. The children have the opportunity to explore at their own pace and build confidence, calm and curiosity ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ›–๐Ÿงฑ

โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ Garden Adventures in Our Under 2โ€™s Room ๐ŸŒฟโ˜€๏ธ

Our Under 2โ€™s enjoyed a lovely visit to the front garden, soaking up the gentle low UV sunshine and exploring a new environment ๐ŸŒฑ

The children had so much fun picking fresh mandarins and tomatoes, engaging their senses as they touched, smelled, and tasted the fruits of our garden ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ… It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and learn where our food comes from.

A highlight of the morning was spotting the bin truck drive byโ€”there were lots of excited faces watching it go! ๐Ÿš›

The babies especially loved enjoying our homegrown mandarins for snack timeโ€”such a special (and delicious!) experience for everyone ๐Ÿ’›
