Today, as a community, we visited the Boundless Innocence Art Connects Horizons exhibition—an exhibition we are proud contributors to. As we explored the gallery, we revisited our learning through the artworks on display and celebrated being part of a project that connects children across cultures and continents. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the concept of the hundred languages of children, we used multimodal forms of expression to capture our thinking, including drawing, photography, conversation, mark-making, and storytelling.

“AI makes things move”
Much discussion has been had about making our drawings
come alive.
With determination, one of our learners worked hard all weekend to create Cat Nap who then shared their drawing with Sean. With the help of Sean and Canva, Cat Nap came alive.
This prompted many discussions and drawings to be created.
Watch this space for more “ alive” drawings.

Imagine our delight when we opened the kindy door to a delivery addressed to us, all the way from China.
The perfect timing as we were connecting with our friends on the “big tv”
We sat as a community, us in Adelaide our friends in China as we opened the parcel. We discovered our family portraits returned to use with their families drawn on the opposite side.
As the excitement calmed down, the next exciting moment happened
BUBBLE WRAP
We popped, stomped and rolled our bodies on the bubble wrap to pop our day away.
“I need my shoes on to make a big pop”
“We jump together for a big bang”
“Lets jump sit, that will pop them
Were just some of our ideas
What an exciting morning of being global citizens

We have been working alongside City of Salisbury Council to share what makes a playground challenging.
With our Student teacher Julia, we have been designing our own playgrounds.
This week we have been busy taking our designs from 2d to 3d.
We are active citizens in our community

This week we began Family cooking sessions with Susana.
What amazing feedback we received from one of our families
at Lantana Kindy we had the BEST little cooking class with Susanna. She shared her special homemade chicken noodle recipe with us and honestly… wow.
The kids all gathered around to help prepare the veggies, and we watched safely as Susanna showed us how everything cooks. They were so excited one was calling out “I can see bubbles!”, another started singing about yummy noodles, and then a whole little noodle choir joined in. Their chatter about how they were going to eat them all up was the cutest thing.
And yes… they absolutely smashed their bowls.
Tonight I made the recipe again with my boys.
I did get myself in trouble for adding broccoli.
“Does Susanna put broccoli in hers?”
Me: “Yes!”🙃
Jonathan: “No she doesn’t!”
😂😂
Thank you, Susanna, for sharing your recipe and teaching us properly. I make it again without the broccoli because apparently I ruined it haha

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the “hundred languages of children,” wire has become a powerful tool for creativity, inquiry, and problem-solving. Children manipulate, bend, and shape wire using real tools to create sculptures, express ideas, and explore form, balance, and structure through collaborative and imaginative learning experiences.
