Anthony Tanโs recital on Wednesday was a great success! ๐
He performed works by eight different composers, including four piano solos, three cello pieces, and a piano concerto โ all from memory, with an almost flawless delivery!
Special thanks to the two accompanists for their wonderful support, which added so much colour to the concert, and to his cello teacher, Shu Yin, for her dedicated guidance that enabled Anthony, with only two years of learning, to take on AMus-level repertoire. ๐ถ
Looking forward to seeing him on stage again next year!
If you missed the performance, you can watch the replay on Recitals Australiaโs page.

๐น Adelaide Eisteddfod Junior Piano Concerto โ 14 August 2025
Two of our students participated in the Junior Piano Concerto competition:
๐ฅ Anthony Tan โ 2nd Prize
๐ฅ Eric Wu โ 3rd Prize
Thanks to Rondo Music School for sponsoring the trophies and supporting our students! ๐
Anthony Tan performed a highly challenging piece, with professional accompaniment by pianist Shawn Hui to ensure an outstanding performance. Eric Wuโs piece, accompanied by myself, was also performed brilliantly. Due to competition restrictions, the orchestral part was played as a reduction on the second piano.
Special thanks to judge Yundi Yuan for giving our students such high praise, encouraging them to continue their musical journey. ๐ถ
Piano concertos are large-scale works, requiring not only solo skill but also close collaboration with the accompanying ensemble, showcasing rich musical expression.
Every studentโs effort on stage is a mark of growth and achievement. Well done! ๐ช
