We are thrilled to announce that our Centre is participating in the 2026 Great Book Swap, a fantastic fundraising initiative supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) Over the next few days. The ILF is a national charity that partners with remote First Nations Communities to provide books and literacy resources they request.
The idea is to raise funds for children who are in regional areas and do not have libraries or bookstores close by.
How will we raise funds?
Bring a book to swap and a gold coin, you then choose a book and swap with one that is on display.
Hopefully you will go home with a new book to treasure!!

Book Week Story Provocation Competition!

We had a fun-filled Book Week last week with an exciting Story Provocation Competition across the rooms! It was a tough competition, and all our educators participated with so much enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork. 👏

A huge thank you to all our families and children who took the time to vote and support their favourite story provocations. Your involvement made the competition even more special! ❤️

A big congratulations to the LS4 team – our WINNERS! 🏆🎉 What a wonderful achievement!

We were also delighted to have our Practice Partner, Alicja, join us for a wonderful surprise opportunity to present the award and celebrate the team’s success.

Well done to everyone who participated and helped make Book Week so memorable!

We had a very special guest today! Educator Anusha’s mum, Mrs Lakshmi Subramanian, visited us to share her wonderful crochet skills. The children loved watching her demonstrate how she creates her beautiful designs.She also made some beautiful pom poms and wrists bands for children.

Monsters & Shadow

What a fun way to explore light, shadows and imagination! The children created their own monsters and used them to discover how light can make shadows appear in different shapes and sizes. We also connected our experience with the story I’m Not Scared, encouraging children to explore their feelings and enjoy learning through play.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.
