Last night, I had the pleasure of performing in the Adelaide Summer Orchestra, playing Kodaly Dances of Galanta and Sibelius' violin concerto. Tianyou Ma was the impeccable soloist, gifting us a fabulous performance on a genuine Stradivarius!! What a treat to work also with such amazing artists and conductors as Nicholas Braithwaite and Philip Payne, and of course, my wonderful friends and musicians of the ensemble. Big love # # #

Just recently I've had two of the worst rusty and stuck hinge-rods ever! I even had to cut one out from a piccolo, after soaking with oil and applying heat sporadically for 3 days!!...Servicing regularly is important folks, it allows us to clean off the old grease and apply fresh oil to your rods, keeping your mechanism light, smooth and rust free! If you often get water in your 8ve vents, it could be because there is *gunk* in them. (Technical term!) I'll take out the vents and clean them out nicely when you get your service done, and this will help to reduce bubbling in your 8ve keys.

I first met the gorgeous .at.play last year when she was touring with and had a flute repair emergency! Last week, I was able to fully service both her flute and piccolo while she was in town for the OzAsia festival. Looking forward to when we met again next year! Big love xx

Here's some news from our Australian Youth Orchestra friends which may interest you. Please share too!...
AYO has a new project in 2025, our relaxed REPLA.Y.O alumni and friends orchestra on the final weekend of National Music Camp in Adelaide in mid-January:
https://ayo.com.au/program/repla-y-o/
It's going to be a great weekend bringing together a range of people connected to AYO and its extended circle of friends and music lovers, working with conductor Guy Noble and the AYO team, creating a really special experience alongside the NMC musicians. We haven't finalised the repertoire as yet, however it will be a mix of short works and movements, from Mozart through to Jessica Wells.
We're reaching out to AYO alumni and others to see if it’s something of interest to you and to also ask for your assistance in spreading the word about the project. Please see attached flyer.
There is a participation fee to cover the project costs (including two dinners) and participants will have to cover/provide their own travel and accommodation. There are no standard of playing requirements though ideally participants will be playing on a semi-regular basis to maximise enjoyment for all. Registrations close on 31 October.
If you or anyone is interested but would like more information, please don't hesitate to give Tim Matthies, AYO Artistic Producer, a call on 0407 273 494 and he'll be happy to talk through the project.
