Congratulations to Lisa Burns from TAFESA Sound Production for winning this year’s “Neville Clark Award” at the South Australian Music Awards.

Always great to see graduates out in the industry! Josh Phillips from Sound Production and Kez Scott from Tech Production are on the sound and lighting teams tonight at Her Majesty’s Theatre. 🎭

We’re over half way through first semester at AC Arts. Term 1 was full of exciting highlights for our Tech Production students!

Huge thanks to lighting legends: Geoff Cobham, Alex Hatchard, Sue Grey-Gardener, Marty Howard, Clinton Camac and Zander Lee who have given us such a fantastic start to the year.

- Geoff and Alex arranged tickets and a behind the scenes look at Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Queens Theatre!

- Marty, Clinton and Zander took us on a backstage lighting tour at Adelaide Festival Centre

- Sue GG designed the TAFE productions for Term 1 and worked with our students to realise her brilliant designs

And thanks to Taren Hornhardt and Paige Goodwin at Adelaide Festival for making it possible for our students to see Innocence!

Term 1 is well underway with our weekly concert prac preformances. Here our Sound Production students are mixing on the industry standard digital condole the AVID S6L.

Congratulations to Zander Lee, Live Production and Technical Services grad of our @adelaidecollegeofthearts for winning Vocational Student of the Year at the 2024 Australian Training Awards✨✨ What an incredible achievement. Zander kick-started a new career as a lighting technician after 15 years of drama teaching. After completing a Certificate IV in Live Production, Zander now works as a lighting technician at the Adelaide Festival Centre. Zander’s journey, ignited by a childhood passion for theatre, has led to a remarkable focus on the technical side of production through their studies at Adelaide College of the Arts and TAFE SA. With aspirations in production management and a vision for a theatre venture that supports LGBTQIA+ youth, Zander exemplifies the ultimate dedication to fostering creativity and inclusivity.

Term 2 is rapidly drawing to a close. Applications are now open for Semester 2.
If music performance, sound production or working in a theatre interests you, then come along to our info night Wednesday 12th June at 6pm at ACArts campus in Light Square.

Nothing better than running into past and current Tech Production students while at work! Nicholas Ricci and Matt Joy were flat out working for NEP Broadcast at Gather Round over the weekend!

Our Live Production students, Performing Arts Acting students and Music Performance students are busy rehearsing for our end of term production.

As term 1 draws to a close our students are busy learning all aspects of concert production. The musicians, staging, sound and lighting operators are all TAFE SA students.
