DUTY OF CARE POLICY

Health condition of the student should be known to the staff and precautions shall be taken in case of any emergency. Children which is unwell shall not be attending the class
Proper equipment, furniture and environment shall be provided
First aid shall be provided in case of Emergency but will not provide for students medication

VIOUR MANAGEMENT POLICY

The aim of the School is to create a caring and safe environment to enable teachers to teach and for students to learn without fear of discrimination and be subject to any form of harassment. Teachers will assist students to develop an awareness of rights and responsibilities through a system of logical consequences for behaviour. These consequences are used to maintain a positive learning environment and to protect the rights of those who behave appropriately

Inappropriate Behaviour is any behaviour that infringes school rules

In class consequences
Teachers will develop logical In Class Consequences for inappropriate Behaviour. These may include:

Apologising
Re-doing work
Replacing things
Time out chair
Out of class consequences
Should inappropriate behaviour persist or be of a sufficiently serious Nature, out of class consequences may be used. These include time out chair, an appointment is made with parents to discuss problems, Principal of the school is informed. A student will be withdrawn from attending lessons for a serious infringement of class rules or persistent refusal to comply with a teacher’s instruction. Serious infringements include violence, tantrums, stealing, insolence, swearing at a teacher, calculated deceptive behaviour, deliberate disobedience, constant interruptions, inappropriate signs, persistent interference with others, damaging property or any other incident that the teacher considers warrants immediate withdrawal of the student to enable effective and efficient classroom learning to proceed. EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLAN

In case of an emergency the hand bell will be rung. All children are to proceed to the door of the classroom and make two line under the supervision of one teacher who will have the roll book
The other will check the toilets and outside area adjacent to classroom eg. Sandpit
The children will walk in an orderly fashion to the safety area (see map provided by Islamic College of South Australia on each classroom wall)
When arriving in safety area, teacher will call roll.
