We are excited to announce Floating Worlds: Prints from Osaka & Kyoto.

Opening in January 2027, this new exhibition explores the pleasure, fashion and cultural life that flourished in Japan's Kamigata region during the Edo period (1603โ€“1868). Inspired by the vibrant urban entertainment districts known as the ukiyo, or 'floating world', artists created images that captured the style and culture of the era.

Featuring actors of the Kabuki theatre, samurai warriors, ghosts, beauties and landscapes, Floating Worlds traces a dynamic tradition of woodblock printmaking born from a prosperous era of artistry.
