💙💛This week is SSO Week 💙💛
A special time to acknowledge and thank our wonderful SSO's for everything they do at Glenelg Primary School. Our SSO's are at the heart of so much that happens in our school—helping students in classrooms, supporting staff, assisting families, and keeping our school running smoothly. We are all very grateful for their kindness, care, and commitment, our SSO's make a big difference every single day!

💙💛Wait Mate is coming to Glenelg Primary School!
Wait Mate is built on the belief that childhood should be shaped by people, experiences and real-world connection before smartphones. And that parents have more power than they realise to make this happen. If you would like to know more and join the movement – we invite to you attend a Wait Mate parent session on Wednesday 26th August - see below on how to book.

💙💛 To cap off the end of Primary Education Week during week 3, the staff and students at Glenelg Primary School wanted to express our heartfelt thanks to the leadership team for their dedication and hard work. When asked to describe our leaders, words such as ‘supportive’, ‘inspiring’, ‘approachable’, and ‘kind’ were shared by members of our school community. These qualities highlight the positive influence our leaders have every day. We are grateful for their ongoing commitment to making Glenelg Primary School a welcoming and encouraging place for all. Thank you for everything you do.💙💛

💙💛Today we were honoured to welcome Tobias O’Connor (SAPPA President) and Hon Heidi Girolamo MLC (Shadow Minister for Education, Training and Skills) to Glenelg Primary School as we marked the end of Primary Education Week. Our school tour was proudly led by two Year 6 students, Harry and Olivia, who showcased the wonderful learning and community spirit at Glenelg.
Fittingly, today is also National Principals’ Day, a time to acknowledge the vital role that school leaders play in supporting staff, students and families. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week a fantastic celebration of primary education!

There’s always plenty of sporting passion at Glenelg Primary School! Today was extra special for AFL fans as Miss Searle bravely donned Collingwood supporters’ gear after the Crows' defeat last weekend. Needless to say, Mr Sam was delighted with the result! Footy rivalry certainly brings out some great fun and laughter at our school—who will be wearing team colours next time?

Our Year 5 students were recently given the opportunity to design the 2027 Year 6 School Jumper! Students could submit an A4 hand-drawn design that included ‘2027’, ‘Year 6’, and our school values: kindness, curiosity, respect, and inclusivity. All entries are now on display in the Front Office, and Year 5 students are now voting for their favourite. Thank you to everyone for your fantastic effort and creativity! Stay tuned—the winning design will be announced soon.
